A few of them are free when you install the app. Anshar wars 2, drift, darknet(I think)
Are these just for the Samsung Gear Vr or other Vr /android phones?

When you plug the phone into the vr headset it auto prompts to install the app, not sure if you can open the oculus without the hardware, never tried
Are they also for CV1? Have to check in Oculus store at home. Would like dreadhalls for CV1 for that price.
Anyone else looking at this connect your phone to USA via a vpn and download milk vr, it's got hundreds of videos available for gear vr, but you have to open with vpn initially to install it, you can turn it off once installed.

That was supposed to be a US-only promo as far as I know, but Oculus didn't handle it very well so some people got the free bundle and others (like me) didn't unfortunately.

Just Gear VR I believe.

Those prices are just Gear VR, however there's also a sale on for the Rift. Dreadhalls is £4.99 for that though. It's a bit annoying that there's no cross-buy feature - I'll probably look to get the CV1 at some point and don't want to have to re-buy the games...
got to say love minecraft in vr!
Do you need a bluetooth remote to play these games? Thanks
I stupidly bought some of these the day before the sale started.

Gutted. Dx

Some require a bluetooth controller, but others use gaze based controls (such as Land's End) or you can use the Gear VR touchpad. It should say on the store page which games require a controller (e.g. End Space, Herobound, Dreadhalls). It's worth picking up a cheap bluetooth controller though as I find it improves some of the games that don't require it.
Ooh, thanks for this. I've not really used mine much apart from playing around with it a bit when I first got it. I was tempted to try Lands End but sounded like it was very short, but might give it a pop at that price.

Anyone able to recommend any half decent and cheap bluetooth controllers to use, I don't want to splash out much as I still can't see myself using it much, but quite fancy trying the odd game that needs a controller.
What games would people recommend?
I've played gun jack on a mates and enjoyed that so jumped on it, not sure about any other the others. Tempted by that zombie game as well
The Oculus store really is a mess. I would recommend Esper 2 @ £4.99 for the Rift, but it's still £7.99 on Gear VR.
However the opposite is true on Dead Secret. £5.35 for Gear but £7.25 on Rift.

Proton Pulse looks excellent, why do Gear owners get that for £2.29? Argh

annoyingly got a Gear VR a couple of weeks ago and already bought all the best ones before the sale, quite irritating but that's life.

I can't play minecraft any other way. Gear VR is amazing and will definately be buying Gunjack!
Any recommendations other than Dreadhalls and End Space?

Of the games on sale I've played 6:

Land's End - a short but impressive experience, definitely worth a go for £1.49. Not much in the way of puzzles, but it's really immersive and I like the graphics.

Bandit Six Salvo - fun turret shooter, you can choose which turrets to use, add power-ups and switch between them in game, it's a decent game to play in short bursts.

Anshar Wars 2 - I only bought this the other day in the sale so can't give a full review but what I've played seems good. Also has multiplayer which I haven't tried yet and is the first Gear VR game to be cross-buy - if you buy the Gear VR version you also get the Rift version (according to the store page - I can't confirm as I don't have a rift)

Into The Dead - It's an endless runner with zombies, which doesn't sound that interesting but is actually a lot of fun. There's challenges to complete and new weapons and dogs to unlock so it's one that I keep going back to. Depends whether you like endless runners though.

Dead Secret - good adventure game with horror elements, I haven't completed this yet but enjoyed what I've played.

End Space - my favourite Gear VR game to date, this is a great space sim - my only complaint is I wish there were more levels although I believe the dev is working on adding content.

I've got the Ipega 9021 bluetooth controller which works fine and only cost £12.99 from Funstock. It's showing out of stock now, but you can probably pick it up cheaply on ebay or elsewhere.

Thanks, I'll take a look

will definately be buying Gunjack!

I wouldn't recommend it.

Had it for the CV1 (now sold) and I was bored of it within 5 minutes. Simplistic "loom to shoot". Not a great ad for VR.
