Hi everyone, this is my first deal post, so be gentle!

Found this in this weeks Micro Mart, it's the best price i have seen for it.

Not the fastest SSD by all means, but still a drastic improvment over a traditional hard drive

Code: OCZ60GB

thanks for post, heat added
yep you need to add postage to the price as well ? or am i missing a trick ?
I do hate the "this is my first deal post, so be gentle!" comment first timers give (even guilty of it myself, lol).
One day someone will say "It's my first deal post, and I don't give a **** what you think". Instant heat from me, lol.

Anyway, on topic. Far from being the greatest SSD in the world, but not going to beat it for that money.

When I pay with PayPal it doesn't seem to charge any extra for delivery?

Yeah I agree. Shouldn't care what people think.
expired 35.99 now,
"this is my first deal post, so be gentle" earns a cold for that dumb comment alone - and that's aside of the fact these are rated poor drives due to data corruption - and the 120Gb one is only £43
It would be nice if the OP let us know the read/write speed, saving everyone having to google it.
this depresses me, i paid about £100 for this drive about 18 months ago!

120GB Vertex 2E for £43? tell me more about it.

if you mean the one on Aria, that's not 2E and it's out of stock

Calm down dear, it's only a deal for an SSD - there's no need to throw all your toys out of the pram.
Sounds like a decent deal to me. Thanks for posting, at this price I can give it a go
Anyone have a rough idea of the odds of failure for these drives?
Just read someone has sent back 3 so far which makes this seem not worth the hassle.

I'm on my third at the moment and I'm totally expecting the current one to throw up the 'red light of death' sometime soon.

Seriously, save yourself the hassle and buy a different brand. I'd never buy another OCZ product again.
When this will be in my local pound shop????
I have 4 of these and no failures yet. One is a boot drive the others are used to house games that my wife and I play often on our respective PC's. It will certainly breathe new life into a small laptop or netbook. I have had mine since Dec 2010. For the price it is well worth it.

A week after it drops out of a box of Sugar Puffs.
I wonder how they make any money when the failure rates seem really high with people sending back 2 -3 drives?

Trolls need attention to live, dont reply and just click ignore.

cheers , just bought 1, not expired, remember you need to use the code.

hoping this old dell pc will get a new lease of life with this wee drive

heat added
Sooo cheap. Windows 7 takes up about 20GB so good system drive upgrade for an old machine with SATA motherboards.
Honestly, at this price I'm buying one even though I don't have anywhere to put it.

You can slap this into a tiny mini-ITX case + core i3 (or an APU if you want to be controversial / save thermals) and you've got a solid multipurpose machine that's near silent, costs barely £250 (or less really if you 2nd-hand the CPU), sips electricity and is smaller than the Oxford English Dictionary.

Data corruption be damned. Look at the price. I'll image it to my TBs of server storage and ghost it back if it breaks, it's 60GB....
how do these connect? is it a different connection to normal hard drives? anything special or can they just be added to almost all set ups?

I heard the life of ssd are shorter but they r much faster, is this true? - must admit I am a bit outdated these days and could do with an upgrade as soon as I have some spare cash
Just ordered one this will be my first SSD drive, bargain price, perfect for my aging desktop
hot deal

ive heard these drives are failure prone but you couldnt tell from the reviews on overclockers

out of 35 reviews only 2 arent 5star thats quite funny i thought

seriously tempted for my 4 year old laptop for a speed boost though

Probably because people rate it on what they think the first day of owning it, they don't wait until it breaks down to rate.

liltman, these are 2.5" drives with SATA connectors, standard for laptop sizes and any PC from the last 7 years (with an 3.5" adapter), but they don't fit everything- you need to check what your PC setup is before you buy. If it's a netbook, you might need a smaller 1.8" form factor size, or need a different Zif or M-sata connector. If you have a really old PC, it might only have IDE/PATA connectors. Early Macbook Airs have completely different drive shapes and connectors, so it's best to check online for your model+drive+replacement to see what you need.
does this come with a 3.5" adapter?
