At last, i've been waiting for the prices on ssd's to start coming down

I'd go with a Samsung 830 256GB for £145 from Novatech personally, but this is a great price and the 830's won't be in stock for a couple of weeks yet.

Its about time these started to drop in price, nice drive.

Based on SF infamous driver. Better try vertex 4 and agility 4.

Id go with the more reliable Samsung or M4.

This is not a great deal as commenters above said. Stay away from SF based controllers.

Cold, I sell PC's to schools for a living, we've had a 100% failure rate on this particular line, they're one of the worst for failure rates and the support is shocking. Sounds harsh, and i'm not normally, maybe it's just early and i'm annoyed

139 now. expired?

Probably got to 99deg heat when originall posted then a few hours ago someone came across it (probably in a set of search results) and decided that it seemed like an ok deal, clicke hot, heat increments up to 100deg and suddenly its at the top of the "sort by most recently made hot" lists which then makes it visible to loads more people and some of those start clicking on and the heat starts to increment again.

I've had 2 of the 120GB versions for over a year, both without any issue what so ever, even on the earlier firmware versions (but updated as a matter of course)

The Samsung is a better drive, but the M4 suffered with firmware issues too (which everyone seems happy to gloss over)

Interesting. Thanks for explaining it.

Not sure they're that much better, the Samsungs also suffered with BSODs until firmware CXM02B1Q.

Plus their firmware update procedure for non-Windows OS like Mac or Linux was a mess.

Sorry, I meant the Samsung is better as in faster, mainly on non compressed stuff, interesting to know they had firmware issues too.

One of the 120GB drives is in my iMac, so thankfully the OCZ upgrade tool for Linux worked, I really didn't fancy opening it up again, the other is in a MBP so easier to remove, but used the Linux firmware upgrader on that too.

I second this. I build PCs for a living and I will never use another OCZ product again after trying a large number of these drives. The failure rate is shocking and like Jinkz says, their support system is atrocious.

Do yourself a favour, save yourself a lot of hassle and buy a different brand.
