lol forgot to mention OCUK put shipping onto the price exc VAT (43.47) then add VAT onto the 43.47+7.75=51.22 * 1.15 (15% VAT) = 58.90.

I'm glad I don't have to pay shipping at OCUK, It makes quite a difference when you are not ordering really expensive items. I would not like ordering a £2 item if I knew the shipping was going to take it to about a tenner with shipping.

sod using OCUK, one of the worst online companies ever. Might be good prices and fast delivery but prey you dont have any problems as after they send the goods out the dont want to know.

This deal will be long gone once an average user meets those requirements.

OCUK, should do what Scan has with AVF & Hexus forums - registered & active member (plus only 20 posts with the latter) with only a £20 excl VAT minimum spend.

Same never had any problems with returns.

Good price would but it if I needed this.

The problem with OCuk's customer service is that they're a shop for people who know about computers. Because their prices are often pretty decent there's a lot of neophyte consumers who go to them for specialist parts and then start giving them stick when they can't figure out how to work it, or stick it into a socket back to front or what have you.

I'm not saying they don't sometimes pooch it, and badly at that, but if you consistently get bad service from them, chances are that you're a total noob.

Nice price - good to see this stuff get sensible so fast

My experience is to first pick the mobo for you then check the QVL then shop around for ram sticks

You may think today almost all mobo and ram makers are big names, but sometimes different chips just wont go together

and this is not really a dirt cheap deal, i remember getting 6 sticks of 2GB of G.Skill 1600Mhz ones in red heatsink for around £150 from novatech +quidco, and its perfectly fit for my Rampage II Gene

OCUK is without doubt the worst company, online or off, I have ever, ever, ever dealt with.

If the product works you may be in luck.

But God, in all his/her variations, help you if you ever have to contact their customer 'services' or need a refund.

Buyer beware.

Have to agree. They have appalling customer services. They're attitude sucks.

Even their own forums is full of fascist stuff. Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Stick to somewhere else like scan/ebuyer, etc.

Plus, I heard of my mate as well as other online review says:
They STEAL your credit card details!

Unless its a coindence all those victims shoped with OCUK :w00t:

And yes they might be cheaper by a few pounds compared to other merchants, but the delivery and quidco cashback made it no difference to shop with novatech/misco etc

Good price and voted accordingly but there customer service is dire, I personally wouldn't touch them with a barge pole

Run by a bunch of monkeys who know nothing about customer service and should rightly not be allowed to operate a store or be trusted with your money (or card details by the sounds of it!)
Yeah must have been my fault for being a noob  the last order we had from them was a big box of parts, inadequately wrapped - hard disk drive shoved in a large box with a single sheet of bubble wrap around it. Memory chip just completely loose and out of its antistatic bag in same big box. Graphics card missing any wrapping at all (along with the retail extras - games, dvi/vga dongle, even the driver disk). CPU that wouldn't even make it past post, couldn't figure it out for ages until we removed the sticker (like a price sticker type thing which had the aledged speed on) and found it was not a XP2800 but an XP2600 (different front speed bus from what I recall - was a long, long time ago since I last went with them following the above). The laughable next day delivery charge, yeah it came next day, when they eventually chucked it in the box some week after the original order was placed with them.
Bunch of clowns, forum full of sycophants to a proven racist/bigot and a bunch of mods who actually like to join in with chatter such as animal cruelty like its something fun.

Let the reviews speak for themselves, any new potential customers - steer clear.

Nah.....I rely on the comments for useful info on the merchant and products, good or bad.

bobbler;5847701

a proven racist/bigot.

I've heard that a few times before, and it's a really serious allegation. Last time it came up in a forum I was in I asked for the proof. Nobody could provide anything at all. Since I think that it really could have a big effect on people's opinions and/or sway a lot of people away from the shop, I think we should a) absolutely see the proof if it's true and b) absolutely NOT throw around libelleous allegations if we don't have the proof.

Seriously, I'm not being funny, I want to see the proof.

True, OCUK has bad customer service. Had to get trading standards involve once. Anyway the RAM and the price is good. Running it my i7 and never had any problems with it.

wild_quinine, suggest you go to www.the-sps.org (generally NSFW tho) which was setup by the people thrown out of the OCUK forums. Plenty of dirt there although they've had to get rid of a lot of stuff due to Spie using his legal mob on them.

At one point, there was a complete website dedicated to their poor track record. Might still be on google's cache somewhere.

Whilst this may be a bargain, I think it's important for people to have some kind of track record about the company. The last thing we need is a barrage of issues caused by a deal going wrong because folks decided to keep stum.

I like the review for this on Overclockers "quite stable" and then gives it 5 stars?

I can't show the proof to you, all I remember seeing was the original post on his own forum (hence quite likely why it is now removed). This was a post about Asians - you can find the information on it via search, I am not going to quote it.
There was also something with homosexuals which I didn't read first hand but a search on google produces the information that was posted within that thread.
This stuff dates to quite some time back though, I am not sure if his views have changed yet, but ignorance is usually quite well ingrained to be honest.

wouldnt touch ocuk with a long barge pole nothing but problems never go back there, shop around u will find better, ocz can be some of the best ram but also some of the most incompatiable and is well known for the problems they can cause...

Hot, nice to see the rams are getting cheaper. Too bad the Intel Core i7 motherboards and cpu are so damn expensive. Come on AMD give Intel some competition so they can reduce their prices lol

I hear there are issues with using OCZ ram in conjunction with Asus mobos, true?
