Also available at Scan on Ebay for 1p less, worth the extra £10 over the recent vertex £40 deal!
I have an OCZ agility 3 and is very good and fast, I am very happy with it.

Not sure how does that compare with this one
Would this be ok for a 2009 MacBook Pro? I would be looking to install a fresh copy of OSX 10.6 on it. Any issues to be aware of before purchasing this?
Bingo, there goes the magic number of under £50!...brought.heat OP.
arghhh probably would have bought this one had i not bought the recent ebay scan vertex

wonder if i would have noticed a much faster speed as i only have sata2 ?

hot deal though

they would work more efficiently on sata2 and first of all it is an improved recent model compared to the cheap very old model that was on sale the other day at £39.99

Would this work with a USB2 portable hard drive enclosure?

As long as the enclosure allows for SATA hard drives then it will.
is this one better?
pcworld.co.uk/gbu…tml

as I can get it for £58.50 as an employee

"Max Read: up to 525 MB/s
Max Write: up to 500 MB/s
Max Random Write 4kb: 85,000 IOPS"
It seems to have better figures but is it worth it for the increase in price?

Will this include an enclosure so I can whack it straight in my PC?
Ah **** I knew this would happen! I bought the SATA II one the other day for £39.99!

Well , even if you had waited for this one , you might of been saying something similar to a 256 gig one in a month or so's time.
ordered one for my netbook. good price for under £50
would anyone recommend putting this in a HP microserver N40L, would it be beneficial in terms of speed.
I'm not sure if the HP supports SATA 3 or not?
Will this work on my XP machine? I am sure someone said there was issues with SSD and XP?

Should work but miight reduce life/performance as I think there's an issue with TRIM on winxp. But why would you want to run a 12 year old unsupported OS anyway??

OCZ are the worst SSD manufacturers.

Why won't you post a link to a whole review where they actually say OCZ is ok?

Super hot, only SSD cheaper was the Kingston 256GB V200 SSD - 2.5 at 0.3906 per gb, this is 0.4083. and at almost twice the speed.

They did. Just click on the graph!

"I do not recommend the Solid 3 for multiple reasons" doesn't sound ok to me.

I did post a link to the whole review - the image links directly to it. Here's the conclusion - hardly 'ok':

Even if you are looking into getting a solid-state drive for that extra boost anyway, I do not recommend the Solid 3 for multiple reasons: stability, performance, and competition. While the stability issues I encountered may have just been bad luck, they did leave me with a bad impression.

In terms of performance, the Solid 3 vastly outperformed my HDD in a lot of ways. That said, the HDD and SSD's scores for sequential read weren't so different that I believe it's worth the price difference.

But "the stability issues I encountered may have just been bad luck"
and the BSOD iossues were resolved with a fimware update:
"It worked, and my BSODs became somewhat of a thing of the past."

Also, the competition issue is not so much of an issue now with current prices.
