Yes but this crushes Intel's £1000 options. It's about price to performance.
I succumbed to temptation and decided to go ahead click that button and buy it
It should hopefully also qualify for the free games promotion from AMD to get Borderlands 3 and The Outer Worlds
and 3-month Xbox Game Pass for PC subscription
Hope it lives up to my expectations as this is going to have to last me for quite some time

Edit
It's just arrived
That was nice quick delivery and can confirm that I got sent emails from CCL with codes for the free games
Borderlands 3 and The Outer Worlds and the 3-month Xbox Game Pass for PC subscription even though they aren't mentioned on the Ebay listing. I did ask for them in a message to CCL when I paid for it

If you are going to buy don't forget to go to Ebay via Topcashback for extra 5% discount that's another £21.50p off the price in cashback
and 300 Nectar points too
So if you subtract another £1.50p as the cash value of those nectar points that will bring the total price down to £406.99p
Plus the free games too

Intel were charging £600 for a 9900K before this came out.
Once the prices drop in these I’ll grab one for my X370 board to replace my R7 1700. For now I can’t justify the £400+
AM4 is a great socket to have.

Don’t forget the new 10900k will need yet another motherboard.
I emailed Ccl about this and a motherboard/ram bundle. Took them three days to reply and also said the open box cpu has now gone. If sales are like that god knows what the support is like!

Intel do love a new chipset for every single minor update.

You are forgetting one thing: 9900K is still the best gaming cpu on the market.
I would get it if I would have more money, no doubt.

I am by far an Intel fan ,I have a 2700x and a 3400G in my computers.

I had a 4790K and 8700K in the past, sold them because they were still a lot of money on eBay.
I am telling you one thing: Intel cpus perform a lot smoother and faster than Ryzen cpus and are trouble free.
Sometimes I regret on moving to Ryzen, but when I think about price, I think I made the correct choice.

9900K is marginally faster overall and only noticeably at 1080P. I don't buy the 3900X being overpriced, its priced lower than Intel's fastest mainstream CPUs but has 50% more cores and outperforms many of Intels much more expensive HEDT chips.

The 9900KS is faster than the 9900K in gaming, now that really is an overpriced CPU.

Smoother and faster - never seen any evidence of that or experienced a difference personally.

Trouble free? Have you seen the number of hardware exploits needing performance decreasing mitigations in the last year?

Share this sentament, I was intel 4770k and NVIDIA 1080, moved to AMD Ryzen and AMD VEGA.... ugh... so many issues, and just a weekly random blue screen.

I'm on a 9900k @ 5.2 GHZ and 2080Ti now and I couldn't be happier, absolutely trouble free.

Similar issue in work with an AMD Threadripper workstation we built, randomly crashes every couple of months... so frustrating.

If you are on a budget, absolutely AMD, if your computer is critical to your business or you want the fastest possible game FPS, intel/nvidia

AMD have taken a massive step forward and approach on chip design. Early Ryzen was an unstable mess. I run a 1700 and 2600 in the house.
The 1700’s memory support a few months after launch was abysmal. It’s rock solid for me now, still running x370 chipset boards.
AMD threadripper can only get better, it’s pretty much Epyc and datacentres will not accept instability.

Might have been an issue with smoothness etc before but Ryzen 3000 is way snappier than it would have been with your 2700X.

If all your bothered about are a few extra pointless frames and want to pay over the odds for it then Intel are great for you!

hardware exploit for which only companies should be worried about or you feel to be targeted by someone?

9900k and KS are the same thing, just that KS are binned and overclocked by default but there are plenty of 9900k over there which overclock even better than 9900ks.

I have a 9900k, 3800x and 3600x and yes, Intel CPUs are more trouble-free and that's just because they have been on the market since many more years as compared to the Ryzens. Surely as the time goes the Ryzens will get more support and will be 100% trouble-free.

That's said, If I'm a pro gamer I would pick a 9900k or ks. If I'm a casual gamer and use the PC also for other things like video editing or to run a software which make use of multi-cores I would of course go at least for a 3900x.

It's easy to brush them off as that but unless your happy to not update your bios and manually manage windows updates for every fix you're still losing performance as each one is mitigated.

Well, updating the BIOS is totally useless unless you have hardware issues to be fixed or need to install an unsupported CPU which is not the case for a Z390 motherboard as it won't support Intel CPUs after the 9th series.

For Windows updates there is an app (can't remember the name now) which disables the software changes (aka, Windows register updates) made by those Windows updates with just one click.

Depends on the board. I have an ASUS X370 Prime Pro. The 3700/3800X are fine over clocked. 3900/3950 fine on stock but need good cooling when over clocked.
There is a list somewhere with compatability advice.
I’d not consider it in my second machine with a Gigabyte X370 DS3 I think it is.

MSI Gaming Pro Carbon and a BeQuiet Dark Rock. Decent VRMs and decent cooling. Wouldn't have any need to overclock a 3rd gen Ryzen. Pointless from what I've read. But would an X370 handicap a 3rd Gen Ryzen?

Damn Topcashback have now increased Ebay cashback to 5% which would now take £21.50p off the price
I could have saved myself another £6.50p just by waiting a few hours
It hasn't tracked yet on my Topcashback account,
it was still bought today just a bit earlier on, so maybe they will give me that higher rate ?

My point, dear boy, is that if AMD hardware was inherently (big word alert - try not to black out) unstable, then those “piece of junk CONSOLES” would also exhibit unreliability. There is nothing wrong with AMD products, you know it, I know it.

The X370 would be a slight hamper if you wanted decent support for faster than 3200Mhz RAM or adamant that you need PCIe 4.0. Otherwise it would be fine.
NVMe storage for many is fast enough without PCIe 4.0 speeds and no graphics cards saturate 3.0 yet.

Just got an email that my Topcashback from Ebay has tracked and at the higher rate of 5% rather than 3.5%
that was showing when I bought this, and also rather oddly at a price of £432.34 rather than the £429.99 I actually paid
so I'm getting £21.62p cashback instead of £21.50p not that I'm complaining !! lol
