I'm not an expert but I bought the 27" LG on Ebuyer the other day. However, my son wants one too but they have now gone up. I have found this as an alternative. Can some of the … Read more

It's probably not bad for the price. With a GTX1070 you couldn't use FreeSync anyway. The LG 27UD58 was recently £300 on Amazon and will no doubt drop back to that or lower sooner or later. It has a rubbish stand and no USB hub, but if those don't matter you could consider that. Being FreeSync-capable it should definitely natively display both 50Hz and 60Hz video.

scooter

so if this monitor is bad what is good one to get 32inch or at least 27 for a gtx 1070 thanks for any help with this as ever scoot :)

MickKnipfler

I don't know the refresh rate of my laptop but it has a 4k screen itself. I do want to use a bluray player though. I don't think freesync is important as I don't game

Donuts123

Depends. I think this is a good price for 27" UHD IPS with height/tilt/pivot stand. The LG 27UD68P is £400 by comparison. If you don't need FreeSync or HDMI 2.0 and will only ever have your PC set to 60Hz refresh rate, this would be fine.

Maybe wait for the LG to come back down then

Totally agree, I get the same, and I bet now officenerd have your email it will have gone into the great big uncontrollable spam machine in the sky, just don't think this was deliberate on their part.

IMHO always post the deal. Its up to the people on here to decide to take the punt or not, and it looks most took it with a "well not likely but I'll have a go" attitude.

Woodsy

I asked them that and they told me it had been processed today (Wed 19th) and should be with me in 48 hours.

What's the spec for 3D on 4K tvs, frame rate etc?

Smartguy1

The Trade Descriptions Act 1968 The Trade Descriptions Act makes it an offence for a trader to make false or misleading statements about goods or services. It carries criminal penalties and is enforced by Trading Standards Officers, making it an offence for a trader to: apply a false trade description to any goods supply or offer to supply any goods to which a false trade description has been applied make certain kinds of false statement about the provision of any services, facilities or accommodation This has probably been superseded but the facts will still remain. As for Eastenders.......no comment.

solid

I doubt anyone at Watchdog would even understand what the issue actually is. "But as long as plays EastEnders, what's the problem?" :{

Smartguy1

I was thinking about it but proof is needed. LG are not adverting with IPS but JL, Tesco, Amazon and other retailers are. Here is the link to the set on LG's site. http://www.lg.com/uk/tvs/lg-49UF675V At no point in it's description does the manufacturer state it has an IPS panel. Following is the link to amazon and tesco which says it has an IPS panel http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-49UF675V-Ultra-Inch-Model/dp/B00UVODLHE http://www.tesco.com/direct/lg-49uf675v-49-inch-ultra-hd-4k-led-tv-with-freeview-hd/132-2788.prd Here is a link from LG's website which does have an IPS panel according to the website. See how it advertises the LG IPS panel. http://www.lg.com/uk/tvs/lg-55UF860V So if the set posted has the 'cheaper CHI MEI IPS panel then the tv is correctly advertised by the retailer and LG know for sure who's panel is in the tv. Obviously not LG as they would have stated it on the website as it's a feature. However my own experience is shown in post 29 above. I wonder what Watchdog would make of that as Currys refused to offer any refund or exchange as I had the tv for 10 months even though it was advertised incorrectly.

At least it will be when a decent amount of sources are available in a couple of years. Imho 4K TV's are not worth "upgrading to" at the moment unless your current TV is failing/very old as by the time there is a significant amount of sources available 4K TV's will be cheaper and better..

MegasXLR

4k is another name for ultra hd, which is 4 times better than regular hd.

nswsz

what is 4k? Is it better picture quality.

So did anyones code actually work?

Naralie

MalAdjustedMal

Why has this deal been "Expired"? I've just visited their web site and the deal is still on at the same price and saying it's in stock. Me thinks someone has thrown their rattle out of the their pram because they couldn't get their own way in an argument.

CookieMunzta

This ^ People have to remember that this isn't an Origin CD-key, it's a code you have to use on AMD's site, to then unlock the Origin code.

MSPreacher

Nothing of which changes the fact that sellers usually just email you the code themselves. Do you think they're going to bother to post it for you (at their own cost, since standard delivery is free to you) if they can just scratch off the code and email it to you? It's what practically every CD key reseller does (whether the key comes from a GPU giveaway or elsewhere). You could just contact the merchant to confirm before buying, so...

Seems they have realised their mistake, must have had a few "hot dealers" buy it! But £1200 is now just a bit to steep!!

ceebs69

Thanks, Been looking for a new GPU since I'm still on a GTX 460 it still plays all the latest games but the power consumption compared to this card! mhdmi isn't a problem as I won't be using the connector and the card has good reviews that almost match it to a R7 265, so at almost £92 I don't think I can go wrong?

flec

It seems to be priced as £1,200.00 inc VAT now?!
