That's still £20.89 more than it should be. Apple still insist on only using their proprietary connectors. Should be at least 1 USB port on there.

Surely it is just as easy to put photos on through ITunes?

Apple bashing aside, this also allows for midi connections. Great for Garageband to connect to real instruments.

Pay for USB connection on the iPad?

Yawn. If you don't want an iPad, don't buy one. If you already have one this is a great accessory as it allow photos to be uploaded 'in the field' and then adited/published without carrying around a laptop.

Or you can carry around a laptop and not need to carry around an ipad and this little connector, that you'll probably lose.

It's a lot lighter to carry around compared to a laptop, and the battery lasts longer than most of them. Swings and roundabouts.

when you talk of photos being edited and published on the field: does this mean that you're all professional photographers? seems to me that alot of hukd'ers and most of the bedroom reviewers on the internet are professional photographers. enlighten me if this is not the case.

Depends if you have iTunes where you are. I've got one of these and will take it on holiday with me so I can back up my holiday pics as I go along - something I always do after once having a memory card fail on me and lost hundreds of pictures. I used to have to take a laptop to do that, but this year will take my iPad (also great for entertainment on the plane) and can now put all the pics (and movies from my camcorder) onto it as backup.

Great price so definately hot. I think I paid £25 from PC-World.

What would that be ? I have one and my interest is piqued :-)

He is referring to using this to then connect an external hard drive or a usb drive to the ipad. You can then use certain apps that can read and load files from the external drive.

Would this work on an iPhone 4?

Had something similar years ago to back photos up onto my old 20gb iPod click wheel.

No it doesn't. I have one and have tried it with my iPhone 4.

This is a great little item. I took my iPad and the camera in place of my laptop this year and at no time did I regret it.

The benefit of this over connecting it to a laptop to transfer photos is that photos uploaded from an SD card can be deleted on the fly if need be which you can't do if you transfer them from a laptop.

Like I said I transferred photos, uploaded them and blogged from my iPad and the camera connector and didn't miss my laptop once.

If you really need flash, then the Puffin app does a pretty good job.

Code doesn't work now.
