Been thinking about pre-order this but already have a Wii U Pro Controller and Gioteck GC-2 so this wouldn't do me much good as the other two are more than enough. WUPC is better for fighting and racing games while GC-2 for adventure.
seems pretty unnecessary
Free delivery for non-prime on gaming pre-orders.

Hori says this is the "definitive" controller to play Pokkén in order to have that arcade experience but here's the problem: It only has a D-PAD and I've seen gameplay of the characters moving freely around the stage.

This is more than just a Tekken clone.

For anyone thinking of buying this, THE CONTROLLER WILL ONLY WORK FOR POKKEN.

You can't use it for anything else, it simply won't work.

If connected to a PC it'll likely work with any game.

See thats what I hate about these controllers, they aren't universal to Nintendo games. Why can't this work with Smash Bros too?!

If you're using it for the PC I would simply have to ask, why are you not using an Xbox controller, which is far superior?

it's a gimmick controller meant for 1 game, and even then it doesn't work well for that game as movement is 3d yet it only has 2d buttons.

Literally ridiculous. I love Nintendo but man, these would have been great for VC stuff!

I highly doubt that due to being game specific and yes it has shoulder buttons.
No analogue stick, only works with pokken, 2 won't work at the same time and if playing 2 player this controller becomes player 2. Great for single player if D-Pads are your thing (I don't use a stick for fighters) but I consider this useless if you already own a pro-controller.

It'd be good for 8 bit and 16 bit emulated games (if it worked on PC). The d-pad is probably a lot better than the awful xbox360 one.

The D-PAD still looks inferior to Nintendo's D-PADs but better than Xbox. PlayStation D-PADs are pretty good too.
Same pad design was used for the arcade machine as well.
Replicating the arcade experience, can't really knock them for that. I don't use the gamepad's d-pad often at all (I actually hate it), but still would have made sense to have it work with VC games at least. Still can't wait to have both the game and pad - they should have done a Xenoblade or Skyward Sword and do a bundle with the game.

It looks a lot smaller than the arcade version.

Nintendo Store is kind of doing it: store.nintendo.co.uk/gam…tml

Well, it was. It's sold out somehow.

PC - Most likely yes (you can use just about any USB controller on PC). PS3 - Hori won't include drivers to work on PS3 so pretty sure it won't.

Going back to this comment, as quoted below the controller apparently does work with other games but not properly as it should (it's missing the two shoulder buttons so could be one of the reasons).
