blackberrys are outdated and classed as business phones so highly doubt it, they used to be amazing back in 08

Doesn't have the Google Play store.

Really, the Android app just needs to be uploaded for the Amazon app store.

Is this really the genuine hotukdeals app, I dont think such a thing exists yet, seems strange not listed by a mod or one the home page and no reviews, theirs a link via hotukdeals app page for some other apps though by 3rd partys

Bigjeremy I think the clue is in the ad copy which says "official"

Just installed - seems okay - no way to check deals I have commented on as far as I can see, though the deal "filter" system seems to work quite well.

Does not seem to want to install ..Sorry, you can't get apps in this region. Please check the Store in your region

Can you side load the APK using a file manager?

heat added as the windows phones users lose out on so many good deals and offers due to alot of apps only made for andorid or ios

Can't find it. Link?

Just installed it and I don't like it. Not sure if it is official because it looks absolutely nothing like the iOS one. Not just that the colour scheme doesn't match the website, the icons are different.

Its missing basic functionality such as you cant even vote hot or cold from the main page, you have to go into the item. Nor can you go from Hot to New. This app is inferior to the mobile view of the HotUKDeals website.

Until we get confirmation from a mod that this is legit I'm classing this as bogus.

Finally, heat

This app is a carbon copy of the dev's German myDealZ.de app. Its looking less and less official.

Thinking of getting a windows phone, what are some of the things you guys like and hate about a windows based phone? Thank you.

Ok some of you are doubting this is an official app. It was first mentioned in this thread: hotukdeals.com/mis…=19

Also the ad copy in the Windows Phone store says it is official too! Swipe to the details page and click on publisher link and you are directed to the hotukdeals site. Not sure what more proof is needed.

Just because you may not like the design it doesn't mean it isn't the official app. Give the developer feedback and maybe changes will be implemented. I am just glad its the proper app.

Have had windows phones for years now, on my third one so for me they must be doing something right.
Good things. You get a good deal, much better phone for the money hardware wise as the prices are low due to not being at the top of the market. OS works well fast and never had any problems as such. Links in with Microsoft accounts well, so if you use outlook.com or like me Old Skool Hotmail.com, also Xbox acheivement if your a sad-o like me.
Bad Things. You do miss out on some of the standard apps that you can get on everything else (specially for me the music apps, no Line6, Tc Electronic etc) Some times the apps you do get are charged at much higher prices than on other devices.

So if Apps are you thing then there not great, if you want a Smart Phone and not to worried about APPs then don't listen to the haters who have never owned one, give them a try.

I'm sure other people can add more.

I have the nokia 930 it's a great device.

Okay, before people vote hot in gratitude for having an "official" app download and try it first. Trust me when you di you'll be voting cold instead.

This app has been clearly farmed out to a German dev who's just copied their app for a different deals website.

The app fails on functionality. It lacks even the basic function of voting hot or cold from the main list or even an on -screen option to go from Hot to New listings. It also lacks the notification option you get on the iOS app.

The app fails being a quick reading list too as even on my Lumia 1020 I struggle to get two deals per screen.

The app is borderline pointless, just pin the HUKD mobile website to your start screen instead, its a much better experience

Wish the designers would update the iOS app to support the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus resolutions.

I have a Lumia 1020....here's why I like it;
- Full HD 1080p video with 4x lossless zoom and high amplitude microphones that get the full range of sound (even at festivals etc)
- Glance screen for easily checking notifications without any discernible drain on battery life
- Super sensitive touch screen (can use it with gloves)
-Amazing standby battery life
-Seamless integration with Microsoft's full suite of services (Microsoft have the cheapest online storage too - so ALL of my digital stuff is now on my 1TB OneDrive cloud account)
-MixRadio (an amazing and completely free offline music playlist service. I discover SO MUCH new music using that app!)
-Built in/system wide offline maps from Nokia/Navteq
-Elegant/personal interface that feels unique to me rather than the generic icon grid of iOS/Android
-Full manual controls in the camera app...(including manual focus)
-Xenon flash for proper night photography
-Cortana works really well...especially for geofenced location based reminders, and a useful thing whereby you say 'remind me to speak to XX about whatever', and then when you call or text them, it reminds you on screen about the subject you need to speak to them about. Simple and effective
-Hardware camera key, so I can start opening the camera app before I've even taken my phone out of my pocket
-Dedicated camera grip with a tripod mount -- very useful for portrait photos, or for use with a myriad of tripod accessories (such as GorillaPod). Can get some pretty amazing sweeping videos. Here's an example of the 1020's video capabilities

Best phone I've ever owned by a good stretch!

Thanks buddy for your review, this applies to me alot as I have a collection of music and I like photography. However the lack of sd card slot bothers me.. so if you had to choose between the 1020 and 1520 which would you use? I know the 1520 lacks the flash and it's silly as Nokia could have really made the 1520 like the note series. Something big! It does have a better screen though. So yeah 1020 or 1520?

Are you sure you're looking at the right app as there are a few. Yes I have to click into the deal details to vote, but sorting by new you just press the filter button at the bottom and choose date order.

The app is actually quite good. I prefer the design compared to the ios and android apps, which look and feel a bit clunky.

It needs a few updates to sort out some issues:

No top deals (top daily, weekly, monthly).
When scrolling up and down the header and taskbar hide and re-appear, it looks messy.
Some crashes when loading more deals.

It also needs a live tile. It might not have anything similar on ios or android, but a rich live tile is part of the windows phone experience.

The new mobile website is great though. It can almost completely replace the desktop site for me.
