Awesome, been considering buying one of these recently. Will snap it up for that price!

voted hot, bought a tv for my room and moved the xbox up there, so this would be perfect, and you know these will be genuine microsoft products rather than buying from ebay.

worth every penny if you use your xbox as a dvd player as well...

Do these work with the apps like Netflix?

Anyone know how this would behave with XBMC?

I'm in at this price X)

Yep, that's what I bought one for. Works rather nicely, far better than using the controller.

They're good but not as good as the older remote (i've got both)

Pros:
Proper clicky buttons (rather than the spongy ones on the white one)
Has a separate TV power button and TV input selector button

Cons:
Not backlit
No Media Centre button
No separate play/pause button - basically it fires the first command, then the second time fires the other one. If it doesn't respond or you've not aimed it right, that's then another two button clicks to get back to what you want.
Limited control of the TV set itself as you can't toggle XBOX/TV like you used to

Not bad for the moeny though.

bought - nice find
Agree with Bossworld - old one was functionally better but this one does look good at a great price

Does this new one still work via infra-red? Or wireless technology so that line of sight is not required...

Cheers, just ordered one!

Price matching gamestation it looks like (they say 2-3 days so I would bet they don't actually deliver based on previous experience)

LOL Media Center - why on earth would you use that? Get PS3 media server, far more support and far less hassle to load up everytime.

I used my original one the whole time I used the Xbox and loved it, I'm sure these are great if you use the Xbox.

Because I've got a fully functioning HTPC with twin freeview HD tuners, blu ray and all my eps download automatically to it (and not a noob torrent in sight?), with XBOX 360s dotted around the house to stream from it?

When setup properly, 7MC is far better than any other solution for a 'connected home' - the only thing that's missing is the channel choice of Sky HD but even that can be plumbed in. The media centre wakes to record and goes back to sleep afterwards - the 360s can effortlessly wake it from sleep and fire straight into 7MC extender mode to playback recorded TV at 1080 resolution, or any AVI files you throw at it. If you want a quicker solution to just watch an episode, you go to my videos through the 360 dash and there's all the content sat there waiting to stream.

'LOL' all you like but do your research next time matey.

Just seen this post. If you configure your PC to respond to Xbox 360 remotes (as well as the standard PC ones) using TweakMC or a registry entry, and get hold of a standard USB RC6 receiver then it will work quite well. Only problem is if you've got an XBOX360 in the same room as short of taping over the 360's IR receiver, it'll try and control/power both.

Only restriction is the play/pause problem as I mentioned before, and also the coloured buttons/guide button won't map to anything by default. I believe that XBMC can have scripts to re-assign remote control buttons though?

Cheapest place for a RC6 reciever? Looking on ebay as i need a spare remote for my bedroom htpc - looks like a nice remote for a good price but i may of been better off buying one bundled with a reciever?

Ebay (but make sure its' genuine), there are some internal ones available as well.

Hot

wish I could get a ps3 one for this price..

Out of stock. The scalpers win again.

£6.47 + £4.99 shipping = £11.46

Or £10.99 here

ebay.co.uk/itm…cc1

nice price, but these newer remotes are rubbish in comparison to the older white models so i'm not voting.
