Have an upcoming video call? Don’t dial-in from your living room — send your transmission from the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon.

StarWars.com is excited to present a galaxy of virtual Star Wars backgrounds that you can use in any online meeting. If you’re home and catching up with friends, talking with family, or an an important work video call, you can now do so appearing as if you’re somewhere in a galaxy far, far away. Choose from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back‘s Hoth (wampa-free, thankfully), the ruins of the Death Star, and many, many more. Whether you dress as a Star Wars character is entirely up to you. (But we would encourage it.)

You can easily download any and all backgrounds below. Here’s how:

Step 1: Click on any image to open it at full resolution.

Step 2: Save to your computer or mobile device. (You can either right-click or use your browser’s download icon.)

Congratulations — you’ve taken your first step into a larger world of Star Wars video calls!

If anyone uses Microsoft Teams for work and would like to impress the nerds....I've found instructions. :-)

"If you don’t want to wait for Microsoft to deliver an official way for adding your own background into Teams, there is a workaround. Tech fans on the internet have learned that you can access the folder within Microsoft Teams to unlock your custom backgrounds.

One thing to keep in mind before you begin fiddling around is that you need the desktop version of the app on a Mac or PC. If you don’t have the background effects option, but you already have background blur don’t panic; it will appear- just check for updates regularly.

To set your own custom background, you’ll need to navigate the file system. On Windows, you can add your own backgrounds to the %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Teams\Backgrounds\Uploads folder (you can copy and paste this into your search bar in Windows to find the location).

If you’re on a Mac, then your backgrounds will be in the client folder for Microsoft Teams in ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams/Backgrounds.

You might need to hold down the Option key before you can find the appropriate library.

Once you have access to those folders, adding your own backgrounds is as simple as copy-pasting a file from your pictures or documents into the right place. You can even drag and drop your file if you like. We’d recommend using a very high-quality image if you want it to look great when you’re on your next meeting. Additionally, stay away from anything copyrighted, just in case.

The next time you join a meeting, you should be able to select Background Effects from the menu and see a range of new options to choose from."
I may* own a Darth Vader outfit. My next video call is going to be spicy 😁

This isn’t the ‘Droid you’re looking for.
Must admit I have not looked into thisn in detail yet, but would this work if I was muted on Zoom (join exercise class but obviously I want to be seen but not my living room)? Thanks in advance
I find zoom becomes very unstable using these. That might be because my webcam is ancient or it might have been two transmissions from separate devices putting strain on the WiFi, but turning them off stopped the frequent lock-ups and crashes.

There's two words that rhyme with TeckHead that would be a more suitable username.
