Was in Currys yesterday and saw this labeled up in a glass cabimet for only £2.97. Took it to the counter and it scanned at only £1.97.

There was also a Joytech Neo communicator for only £2.97. It's a small speaker that plugs into the bottom of your controller with an in-built mic. It's quite good actually but white only.

Good if you can find it

not trying to start another console war, but omg this one looks so ugly compared to ps3 one :x

this is soo much cheaper tho lol

Great bit of kit if streaming hd content, its a remote after all and allows you to skip 5 mins at a time through mp4 files on playback. There are other features which makes it worthwhile but thats the main plus point and the fact its a proper remote without using the gay controller :-D

It is a good quality remote unlike the type you get with dindi dvd players bargain if you can find one

The Controller mic or the remote?

The remote looks better than the PS3 one imo.
But the controller mic looks crap.

That's only for the swordfish version which is not official, unless you have a product code to point everyone else to the official one as I have searched and can't find it?

Correct.. the remote in question is NOT the official one.

If you can find a used or unwanted MS MCE remote -

I use one of these with my Xbox and it works great, im going to say its probably the exact same or very similar to the OPs one tho? So not quite the bargain but maybe useful to someone?

Do people still buy the Xbox 360? I thought the PS3 almost totally killed it off?

Nah, the 360 is still selling far more, as ever.

The controller is pretty good for the money, really cheap feel but it IS really cheap so thats of no concern.

The Joytech Neo Communicator on the other hand is worse then useless, it looks OK and is a great idea, but due to the distance your mouth is from the microphone they have had to make is to sensitive and is creates just a loud constant buzzing noise. read some reviews before you spend even 3 quid (for example - play.com/Gam…tml )

Couldn't spy any in the manchester arndale, not even a space for them.

before voting hot has anyone find any of these for the £2 price and is it nationwide.
im not voting cold or hot if this can be had for that price than hot

It should be noted that the buttons are backlit. I wish that all remotes had such a feature!

Can someone please confirm if this is the official MICROSOFT remotes and not those crappy little ones please?

The title and picture shows it's the official one.
