I bought one of these a while ago and it was just like a brand new controller, but without the original packaging. Official Microsoft product, compatible with Xbox 360 and Windows PCs.

Is it really the official Microsoft ones? The photo even though it's for illustration purposes only, it looks more like the cheap knock offs, and if a seller was pushing the real thing, I would have thought they'd use a picture of a real one. I say this, because the silver button doesn't have the green X across it. Where as the real ones do. Even in rubbish photos, you can always see the green X. Plus, it doesn't have a break away cable.

They've used the part number and EAN for the official controller in the blurb - I think eBay would help you out if it turns up as a fake.

I can assure you it's an official Microsoft one - I bought one myself. I agree the picture is misleading, though - it looks like they've copied it from another seller.
Fair enough. I just wanted to be sure. Thank you.

Here's a picture of the one I received - says "Microsoft Corporation" on the back and the cable comes with a 360 to USB adapter attached:

A wired controller? Slightly antiquated!

Will this work with windows 10?

Wired 360 controllers work well on Windows 10.

Do these controls work on a PC as a games controller, as i want to use for couple of ps1 games that i have on an emulator.
Yes i have the originals before anyone states the laws, just can't be bothered to unpack the ps1 and games

Nope, genuine Microsoft controllers. Don't be fooled by the misleading picture.

You're right - the photo used is clearly a cheap third party one. No 'X' logo on the home button and the USB connection is the wrong size/shape for an official Microsoft one (they're quite chunky, with enough room for the MS logo).

However that is not only an official controller, it's one of the later, improved versions (note the black thumbsticks and D-pad, as opposed to grey on the older controllers). So if that's what you get from this auction then it's a great deal!

Yes, they're the best controllers to use on a PC as they're natively supported (as Microsoft make both the 360 and Windows!) so there's no setup/configuration required (for Steam/modern PC games anyway - your PS1 emulator might require it). I believe the driver is included in Windows 8 and 10 so it will just be plug and play. For Windows 7 and older you might need the driver which is available here - microsoft.com/har…ows

Might get an extra one for my PC - have a wireless receiver but I always end up plugging it in using the play and charge kit anyway as it syncs automatically that way and keeps it charged, and I'm sick of transferring it between 360 and PC so this would be very handy to have.
Another price hike. 13.99 now
Yeah was this not £9.99 only a couple of hours ago? the fact they've pushed the price up in such a short time, presumably because demand has risen is enough reason to not give them my money. In other words F#*$'em.
I posted a deal earlier for used £15 official Microsoft controllers from CEX - that deal is even better now as they are £12 and come with a 2 year warranty...
