yes plus you need an aerial

Heat, but I got a query. If I put an aerial in my tv it only picks up SD channels. If I bought this would I get HD freeview through my tv?

Yes. The tuner picks up the HD channels and the TV just displays them.

I have this and use it because I don't have Freeview HD in my telly. It's good but I think SD channels look pretty pixelated. DVR's handy though.

Don't need one but it would be rude not to at this price I feel!

Aren't they replacing that with PiP at some point?

Has anyone had luck getting this working on a PC? Seems quite a bit cheaper than ones made for PC.

I've had one for over a year. worked on my original Xbox one and moved to an Xbox one s.

My only issue is the hd channels appeared to break up, freeze and pixilate all the time.

I would change channel, change back and it would be fine again for a bit then degrade again.

Taking the same cable and putting it direct to the TV, zero issues, zero pixilation and a far better quality.

It's very convenient having media all in one place but seeing as Xbox have dropped snapping, I've ditched this adapter.

That said, very good price, they have been at least double that for some time now.

£5.38 now!

You can record Freeview with this?

Does anyone have a poor frame rate and lots of picture stuttering/juddering when using this like I do...?

Trying to finding a post on reddit with lots of people with the same problem. Firmware update didn't solve it for me.

I thought you could just pause and rewind (up to a kinky limit), rather than record, per se?

Yeah there is. I guess this would still be good for people who have a data cap or slow broadband. Not a deal for me, but voted hot.

Still no Windows drivers?

is there anything similar for the 360?
Got a tv and 360 in a garage without an aerial but has wifi access?

Apologies for the dumb question: can I use it if I don't have a Xbox? Is it better than a normal freeview box?

No

...and still no Windows 10 driver either

Price has gone up?

Anyone managed to get it to work in Tvheadend or Linux in general yet?

that app uses the internet like NowTV. No loading / less likely to stutter using this.

True. On the flip side, that app doesn't need an aerial to function

No offence to the op but can't you just download the tv player app now which saves you using an aerial

Channel selection is likely different, as will picture quality, and then there's bandwidth usage considerations...

They're not really comparable.
