I have never used them before.
But got Argos vouchers to use. So it's time to go for a new one.
Thanks OP.
Do these work well with PC?

Do these work well with PC?

Yes, via Bluetooth. If you want to use headphones, you'll need an adapter, but otherwise they'll work perfect.

Why an adapter for headphones? Description claims headphone jack.
Very good deal.... Exactly what I've been waiting for, and to think I was about to buy a used one on ebay for £30... Heat added. Item ordered.

The adaptor needed is the USB wireless dongle, the controller doesn't support headsets over Bluetooth.

Yeah it has headphone jack, but it works with Xbox and PC with dedicated adapter. If you use it with PC over BT, headphone jack won't work.

Can the controller be used "wired"? Will that also allow use of the headphone jack without an adapator?
Just ordered a new unboxed (OEM) black controller from The Game Collection for £27.95.

Don't know tbh
Also check your ebay messages. Received one a couple of days ago for a tenner off a 30 pound spend. Brings this down to 25 quid (if using argos ebay store of course)

You can use it with a micro usb cable if you want to use the headphone jack.

That one is the non bluetooth, non headphone jack version. which is fine, unless you need those. This is the newer version, which has both.

Bargain, controllers cost a bomb atm
Will these definitely work with a PC? Had problems before when I tried to connect a xbox controller without a cable, would I need any dongles or adapters

Which is a good price if it's all you need (though they are now out of stock as i write this). It doesn't have Bluetooth & needs an adaptor to be able to connect wirelessly to the PC.

Read above before you comment.
Will this work with the existing Bluetooth receiver from the Xbox 360 PC Controller?

Also, is this really worth the upgrade over the standard wireless Xbox 360 controller for PC?

£35 for a controller is 'cheap' now?
Is this same as the controllers supplied with Xbox one x?

Yes, with the cable it works on Windows 8 and 10 (haven't tried 7). You will need to install driver and you might need to try few USB cables as not all cables are compatible (Samsung S6 data cable didn't work for example).

If you want to use it wirelessly on PC you will need MS dongle and officially it supports Windows 10 only. Old 360 wireless dongles will not work.

Yep. Really easy. Works no problem

The old 360 adapter isn't bluetooth and doesn't work. The new Xbox controllers work fine using bluetooth but only on Windows 10. If you don't have bluetooth and Windows 10 you will need the new wireless adapter for Xbox one controllers to use it wirelessly.

The dpad on the Xbox one controller is much better than the 360 pad but other than that it's a nice but not essential upgrade. I personally prefer a DS4 but end up using the Xbox controller more due to basically infinite battery life from swappable batteries.

The old wireless Xbox 360 works just fine in windows 10 via bluetooth, so not sure what you mean by it isn't Bluetooth....

I prefer wireless, the wired ones are useless, I've been through 4 wired controllers because the twisted wires just go after a few months, whereas the wireless ones are going strong, but you have to factor in batteries
Bought from amazon and got a code for 10% off a years ea access ... I don't need it but if anyone does, here you go 5H3K-RDN22C-7FC6PV

So mine turned up today and fired up Gears 4 and it feels a lot different. Just gone back to my 'old' controller because I can move to where I want to more accurately. Anyone else found big differences?

Xbox 360 controllers aren't bluetooth.
Bought from Argos and now taking it back.

Totally disgusting service from Argos, the item has been used, the sticker seal has been closed and there was smudges all over the controller.

Shame on Argos, yet again for selling "used" goods as new.

It's no wonder, people have lost confidence in Argos and they will go under, idiots.

I think a lot of retailers do this, esp if they are online and Dist Sell Regs allow items to be easily returned.
Price on Argos site is £49.99 not £34.99 as stated. Did anyone actually buy one at £34.99 !!!!!!
