From Richard Spendlove, and David Croft, writer of Dads Army and Hi-de-Hi!, Oh Doctor Beeching! has been a firm favourite with millions of British comedy fans. Arriving in 1963, please alight at the small branch railway station of Hatley, threatened with closure under the Beeching Axe. Paul Shane stars as porter Jack Skinner, married to the caf?anaging May (Julia Deakin), who was once in a close relationship with new station master Cecil Parkin (Jeffrey Holland). Also on the platform of this quaint and quirky railway station are Mays daughter Gloria (Lindsay Grimshaw), booking clerk Ethel Schumann (Su Pollard) and signalman and jack-of-all-trades (all of them off the books) Harry Lambert (Stephen Lewis). Over 19 fun-filled episodes, Oh Doctor Beeching! celebrates everything that was great about Britain and the British Railway, back when the greatest challenge in rail travel was getting a decent cup of tea.

Be interested to know why the cold votes?

My Mum and Dad bought each series of this seperatly when they were first released and must have spent 10 pounds on each series.

This is a great series, having most of the actors from 'Hi-De-Hi' and 'You rang, m'lord' and I recommend it highly.

Heat added!

Well I voted hot mate. Might get his. Can vaguely remember it, but spent a few years barely watching much telly really, and this was one of the series during that time that flew by me.

Might give it a go now though.

Man of taste!

Been this price at different stores for quite a while - no deal as far as I am concerned.
Needs to drop below £10.

Name the stores - if you can!

Well - yeah - I can?
But I fail to see what difference me typing a few words here makes?
Hardly irrefutable is it?

Saddo that I am, I have kept a tracking spreadsheet for years.
Since this has been released it has been £12.89 at Sendit and £12.85 at Zavvi.
