Classic series featuring the late great Bill Maynard. Cheapest around as far as I can see.

“MAGIC, OUR MAURICE!”

“Hey, it’s brilliant this, isn’t it? I’m on a DVD! That’s me on the front cover! And there’s our mam up there... and Ray from the club: I’ll have a pint o’cookin’ and a bag of nuts, our Raymond! Oh, he can’t hear me. There’s our Maurice an’ all - hey our Maurice, where’s Vera? And there’s Jack on the end, he doesn’t look too happy does he? He’s on the committee, like I am. Anyway, I’ll have to go now, I’ve got the Times Literary Supplement to read... it’s great, you get three and a book on Sundays! Magic!”

Bill Maynard stars as the council labourer, hapless handyman and all-round public nuisance in this classic Yorkshire Television sitcom from the pen of award-winning writer Alan Plater (Beiderbecke). Oh No It’s Selwyn Froggitt boasts a regular supporting cast featuring Bill Dean (Brookside) - who also wrote lyrics for each show’s theme song - and Robert Keegan (Z Cars), and remained a firm favourite with the viewing public throughout its two-year run, establishing Bill Maynard as a household name. This release brings together all three series of Oh No, It’s Selwyn Froggitt along with the final series Selwyn and the original pilot episode from 1974.

Decided it's going to be a great 'winter watch' so went for it (28 days delivery though???). Thanks OP.

I think that’s a “one size fits all” timescale that they say, as they do ship abroad too. Dispatch is within 2 working days so I’ll be shocked if it does take another 26 days to reach anyone in the UK.
Selwyn found it in the grass.
Oh my lord remember watching this many many years ago.

Totally forgot about this

That is cheaper at Amazon (£24.99 including the film). Some are really cheap on there (Heartbeat series 1-7 is nearly half the price on there compared to Amazon for example) whereas others are more expensive. Best to double check prices if looking to buy anything.

I’ve ordered The Gaffer from Amazon as it was out of stock at Network. Was more expensive but only a little more. amazon.co.uk/Gaf…8-2

Thanks for the memories Walter (Bill) RIP. I remember getting his autograph as a kid at Leicester stock cars and meeting him again years later at a little auction house on the old Wymeswold airfield. He even released a single about stock cars as he liked the sport so much

Not 100% sure you can tbh. You can change it but think you may have to wait a while to edit it back.
I barely recall this as a child. Always thought it was set in Wales and starred Roy Kinnear for some reason.
heat added just bought the medusa touch and capricorn one on bluray alot cheaper than else where under £9 for the 2 titles delivered
Does it stand the test of time, such as Dad’s Army etc?
Is that Greengrass?

No idea but that's a good point. The Phil Silvers show, I bet, has. I recall that being amazingly good. I used to watch it with my dad when rotated in the 80s, and can still recall a few episodes clearly. The one where Dobbernan had a choice like Sinatra (but only suffering from a cold) was amazing.

Someone above mentioned Love Thy Neighbour. Rubbish like that should only be watched under certain academic conditions. Dreadful.

I remember meeting him back in primary school, some towers were being demolished locally and he was guest of honor to press the plunger down, I'm sure this was also part of one of the episodes that aired back in the day (I could be wrong as my memory is failing me)
This is a great christmas present for people you don't know that well
