Oil & Filter change at National Tyres & Autocare from £28.80 10% off code = £25.92

Oil and filter change at National Tyres & Autocare with 20% off code, prices from £28.80 using code = £23.04, there is also an optional charge of £1.70 for oil disposal.

I have just booked my Fiesta ST in and it has cost me £29.06, nearly half the price that other garages are charging, and it would cost me more to buy the oil and filter and do it myself.

They are using in my car (will be different for others depending on model)
Castrol Magnatec 5W30 Full Synthetic (my car takes about 4.5 Ltrs and a 5 Ltr bottle of this oil is worth £25).
OEM Filter (worth about £5-£7)

Code is: GPLUS1OF (This 20% off code has now expired, see bottom of this post)

Note: Due to the increased complexity involved with the removal of under-trays in certain vehicles, it may be necessary to make a small additional charge of between £6 to £12 for their removal. If necessary, this will be discussed and agreed with you in advance of your oil and filter change being carried out.

This deal has been posted on here before over 16 months ago and is now expired, that's why i have re-posted it, also the prices are different now. Mods delete this post and un-expire the old one if needed.

Just got back from having my oil and filter change, I must say I am very happy with the level of service I received (Brownhills branch). The job was well done (took about 30 mins) with the correct oil I paid for and they use Unipart oil filters. Hope everyone else receives the same service that I did.

The new 10% off code is GPLUS2OF as the 20% one has expired, it's still a good deal though.

I use them between normal services, no complaints.

Doesn't seem to be showing in there website...

£35.18 for mine using the code

Great post. I always take my car here because it's cheaper than buying Castrol Edge and a filter and doing it yourself. Heat

I thought these guys just sucked the old oil out of the filler neck. Why are they looking for extra cash to remove the under-tray?
I would be watching them doing it to make sure it was done properly.

2010 VW Scirocco TDI 170 DSG - £32.66

2009 VX Corsa 1.2 Petrol - £39.86

MOT also half price, Was going to do this myself but at that price i might just get it all done with the MOT!

seems like a good deal, but do they actually do what you are paying for. thats the thing with garages, you dont know if your getting what you paid for unless you know your stuff.

Never had an issue with my local, the guys have gone out of their way to help in other times too. I always make a mark on my filters / plugs to confirm that all is removed / changed anyway. I trust no sod lol

Yep. It was well publicised some years ago. Sure it has all been stopped now!!! Actually should be through dipstick. Dipstick quite appropriate for some of the plonkers who work in National. Totally ruined four of my alloy wheels when getting tyres changed. Company eventually accepted liability some three years ago and I am still waiting for compensation.
Just Google: oil removal through dipstick

anyone had an engine flush - for the car lol - and noticed any benefits?

theyve never done this (suck oil out) for mine or charged for removing under tray on my car. I think they only do it on some more difficult to remove ones. make sure you warm the oil up by driving for about 15-20 mins, at least too

before they remove it. right?

I'm probably going to sound pretty stupid, but when I had my 2011 Ford Fiesta serviced with Ford in March, would they have changed the oil?

I'm an idiot here... does this price include cost of oil? or is that separate?

£47.25, under £40 after discount. Wonder what they do if you don't ask for oil disposal? Put it back in the empty bottle?

I generally do my own but BMW spec oil for mine is almost never on offer so this deal works out at much cheaper than the oil alone, let alone a filter and time and effort. Tyre's are due soon as is MOT so maybe a combined visit is in order.

I would say 99% certain yes, but couldn't you check your service receipts?

just be careful,i paid for fully synthetic a couple of years back and they filled with standard oil, i watched them do it, so they had to drain and reflil again, the synthetic stuff comes in normal plastic bottles, the standard stuff is out of a large drum, so if you have paid for synthetic watch as they fill up with oil

Great price if you have a jalopy that needs a basic service. Wouldn't go near them with a car of reasonable quality, though

Costs me £50 normally for oil service £20 petronas oil and £5 oilfilter £25 labour costs.

Castrol oil would destroy my engine as is a multiair only a handful of oil on market for it.

Anyone know how long the code is valid for? Very cheap and pretty much the same as buying oil and filter on its own would cost

Could that be a garage specific practice?

Heat, booked!

Went to book, checkout refused my card :s never had that before

Booked mine in for an in-between service oil change... Thanks!

Great, I was thinking about getting this done. I asked Vauxhall how much they wanted to do it, £110!

Can anyone recommend how often oil should be changed? Vauxhall say that on the new astras with their dexos2 oil, it only has to be changed every 20k miles. 20k?! Does any oil last that long? Would it be recommended to change every 10k? I do 25k miles a year so want to take care of my car as much as is practical...

Thanks op

booked for berlingo diesel £27 ( take my own oil away, pass a tip on the way home )

Last year it was on for a few weeks iirc - please don't rely on that though, I'm getting old and doddery and memory fails me at times. I've just booked one car in for tomorrow for semi-synth, will check the diary and see when I can get my Bmw in.

It's an oil change, they've done 3 for me before now so this time round it will make 5. Never had any issues at Derby branch, ymmv. I have had a dealer check warped discs on my old 4runner and fail to tighten all the studs back on so that I had a wheel off on the motorway slip road, I was younger and naiver then and never checked the work. Our local 'network' who I won't name as yet as we're pursuing the issue, replaced the front antiroll bar on the ppl carrier then neglected to put all the bolt back in to hold the front sub frame on.... That was at least picked up quickly and rectified.

Mistakes happen and poor service can occur lots of places. I read recently of an Audi dealership (iirc) not tightening the filter sufficiently leading to catastrophic oil dump at speed with resultant replacement engine.

great price
