Yeah I’ve never heard good things about these magnetic cables which is why I never bothered, the connection is always weak and can cause arcing issues too. If you’re expecting something as good as a MagSafe connection you’ll be disappointed. Also if I wanted a proprietary connector which I only had one cable for, I’d buy another Apple Watch or iPhone

I bought a couple of magnetic USB cables about a year ago - BRILLIANT!
They were fairly cheap, £2 or £3 on eBay and yes FROM CHINA.

The ones here seem far too big to leave plugged in my phone all the time, the whole point of these magnetic cables, and I cannot see any dimensions for the bits. I would also look for a cable that also sells the actual tips on their own. Put a tip on each of your devices and you can charge them all with the magnetic cable.

My ones are oblong shape and fit snugly onto the phone thus avoiding wear and tear on the USB socket.

They make plugging in my phone at night (even in the dark) so easy and no more bending or pulling if I try to use the phone while charging. Pull too hard, or twist (that's how i broke my previous phone) and the magnet just pulls away.

Anyone actually used one of these magnetic-type cables? Are they any good?

Saw like a 5-in-1 the other day on Ali, it looked alright as well

Where did you get them from?

Sorry the UK based eBay seller I got them from is no longer there.
But quite a few similar cables from UK sellers or from China if you want to wait a month.
Ordered 2 from Gearbest and they came in 11 days. Very pleased so far, my Moto G6 does turbo charge as well. The blue light ring is on all the time that the charger is turned on, so its still on when the phone is removed. I like the fact that you don't even have to pick the cable up, just bring the end of the phone close and it snaps together on its own
