isnt it possibleto short those contacts?

Yes, anything is possible.just believe in yourself
Please note the magnetic lightning storm shown in the pictures is not included.
Does this cable melt like Olaf too during summer?
It's a cheap item and we can't have all specs paying peanuts, however, are the fast charge cables not supposed to have the 56 kohms resistor? Yes, you can't get everything for this price, but the resistor should be essential, paying £1 to destroy your expensive device or setting things on fire...

Anyway, for this price is probably a good product if you use an old charger, will not fast charge but will not set things on fire either.

Anyone bought these on an earlier deal? What's the quality like, any possibility of damage to phones

I've bought one just to have handy at work when I need a charger.
Annoyingly the connector detaches when removing from phone which is a faff

Mine used to do this too, now I just bend a little to break the magnetic pull as opposed to simply pulling, which as you rightly point out pulls the connector out with it!
I don't need one, but purchased. Hot.

I got the micro usb version, they're good quality. The light at the end of the cable is too bright ... not for use in a bedroom.
Note that I couldn't use mine for data transfer, charging was fine.

OLAF! ... JAMS INTO FIRST!
mate had similar magnetic charging cable for iphone and very happy with it. such a shame that big brands do not manufacture that kind of cables, you can only mostly get Chinese from online retailers.

Have select free postage from drop down list
I have found these really good, I leave the connector end in my PS4 controller and place near the cable to connect when it needs charging.. The cable will connect magnetically to the connector from around a centimetre away. I have one cable in each USB port of the PS4 and the two cables do magnetise together when not connected to the controllers, but even with two cables connected end to end, it's never caused an issue, no heating up, shorting etc. They also have a habit of magnetising to my radiator. Basically I have twin boys that have broken my PS4 controllers and scratched my IPad constantly putting cables in. With these, I leave one end in the device and just touch the magnetic cable near the connector, to connect it and charge. If you pull the PS4 controller even fairly softly the connector becomes detached from the cable leaving the connector in place in the controller. It can be annoying keep attaching the cable when playing, but it take less than a second to do. The good point is that when one of the kids walks into the cable it saves the PS4 being pulled off the table or the controller out my hand though. For the price they are an excellent buy. For info they do the iPad type connectors as well.

Apparently you can get micro USB version for the same price as well, but only with 100 cm cable - the code does not work for 200 cm cable :\

Isn't that the point?

i was wondering how scottymelotty managed to get his dualshock controller charged with a type c usb cable ?

hes actually using a micro usb b version of the magnetic cable
Cheers, ordered 5
I have this type of connector/flex. If you have a thick case to your phone, it's quite difficult to get the end bit into the socket as usually the case hole is small rectangular. It's not too bad if the case plastic is soft. Similarly the flex magnetic connector is a little difficult to connect to the end bit but works ok as the magnet is strong
Congratulations & welcome to HUKD fellow....
Might as well for a quid

Yes! Had a similar make with the same style connector and you can short the connector out easily in everyday phone use without realising. It killed the batteries on my two phones and iPad and luckily I realised and sent them back. I use one with a different connector now
Using one now. The end that goes in the phone protrudes quite far and the blue LED in the end of the cable can light up a room but good for stopping ham fisted family members from trashing their phone ports
If you want a decent lead that is as good if not better than an original apple lead, buy a unbreakable syncwire off amazon , best I’ve ever had
Is it for iPhone
What a load crap , fast charge , I got 2 of these cable , useless , save your 99p

I purposely use non fast chargers. Fast charging destroys your devices battery much faster.

This is why all the phones now come with fast chargers?
