Why do you believe it's not?

9x 355ml BOTTLES (5.2% ABV) according to mysupermarket. Price valid until 18/01/11

thanks for that, that's me assuming 355ml would be in cans , usually buy 500ml bottles.
my fav beer and this works out 1/2 the price I normally pay and no tinny taste

What sort of measure is 355ml? Never come across that before...

Greene King, who make Old Speckled Hen, Abbot, Ruddles & others seem to have the canning thing sorted. At one time, I would've avoided canned beer but I can't really tell the difference nowadays. I suspect the cans have some sort of liner which isolates the beer from the metal.

Awww man, I went to Sainsburys tonight and bought some of that stupid Sol (drinking it right now) but this would have been much better. £1.64 a litre for proper booze. Sol was stacked right by the door, this was obviously hidden in the gentlemen's section.

And Wessie yes indeed can technologie has improved. Guiness came to my uni and did a talk on how the widgets work and how the cans had been changed and the lovely people also brought a bloody pallet of the stuff. One of the profs tried to claim it was for staff only... yeah, like that was gonna happen. Scramble! I think it's what cost me my first.

As far as canned beer goes, the Hen is very nice. I'd rather go for the cans as these small bottles are very poor value compared.

It's different, but it's not a h...

Oh, wait. Fair enough. Heat added.

Please advise where cans are available at a price of less than £1.64 per litre.

Sainsbury's best price is £2 per litre whereas Tesco, Asda & Ocado are all more. Tesco is next best with 2off 4-packs of 500ml for £9 which is £2.25 per litre.

U.S. calls it the industry standard bottle (ISB) and it's 12 U.S. fluid oz.

That's 12.5 imperial fluid oz. so getting on for 2/3rds (62.5%) of a pint.

That`ll be my Friday night sorted.Lovely beer.nearly as good as my home brew.
HOT and thanks

This is much better than the 4*500ml for £4 cans deal they also have on at the moment.

Cracking beer, cracking price - if these were the usual 500ml bottles the equivalent price would be under 90p so excellent value. A little off topic but the Hen is, imo, one of the very few beers that tastes as good from the can as the bottle as well.

great deal. And thanks for your opinion of the cans of this stuff. i have always avoided them but will not anymore.

A pub I was in this week sold 355ml bottles. Seemed like sacrilege, though it didn't stop them charging as if it were a 500ml bottle.

Ahh my favourite beer!

Yes, usually hard to find this on offer!
Have some heat!

Well,well..........was looking forward to our trip to Sainsburys to get the Sol,now even better..happy days!!

Sh1te!
Not available in my local!

+1... That's what I said above

Can tell it's a wartime brew - not nice.
