Would these be any good as replacement for a telescope.
This is the best price but... Jessops says the RRP is £90 and they're currently selling them for £60. Just in case ppl miss this amazon deal. Other shops are around £70.

I've spent an hour researching these and the 8x40s to work out which is best for me and now they have put the prices back up

Binoculars are my recommended choice as a first telescope.

I own 3 pairs plus a small scope and I use the bins far more. They are brilliant for a 10 minute session, the same time it takes to set up my scope.

They'd be perfect for the upcoming Venus in the Pleiades over the next few nights plus you'll use them not just for astronomy.

Even if you get a scope you'll find yourself using bins.
