While this is a very good price (and therefore hot), this grip does not hold AA type batteries (Canon and Nikon do). This makes a third party grip with AA battery holder a better option than the original. Don't forget this grip will also fit the cheaper E-600 from Currys.

True, but you can get the BLs-1 batteries from 7dayshop for £6-£7 each... a bargain in my opinion#!! I wish this could fit the E520!!!

The point is that only AA type batteries are a real backup. Propriator batteries can never be got in an emergency (imagine you forgot your spare battery or your charger = no photos). You're better of getting a after market grip from fleabay for your e-520 (very nice camera I might add). This grip will also allow external power supply (which the Olympus don't).

true... though I find the li-ion batteries last me for ages and ages.. I agree with your point, but for £23.50... it is a proper steal!!! Thanks for the heads up on ebay grips.. I might try and save up for one when I have saved up for a new lens.. rep given
