Good price but one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I was just glad I didn't pay to watch it.

Original Poster

I thought it was much better than White House Down, which is basically the same idea

great film at a great price. heat added.

Terrible film. I didn't pay to watch this and still felt ripped off.

Who are Head Entertainment, and where are they? Never heard of them.

I thought this film was alright, nice bit of mindless fun!

I really enjoyed this film, Good price.

Reminded me of the original Die Hard.
Well worth a watch.

Horses for courses. I enjoyed White House Down but didn't like Olympus Has Fallen.
Heat added - good price if you like/want it.

Where's the store, OP?
I thought Head went bankrupt years ago.

This is on Netflix for those interested

Top deal
Head are independent stores closest to me on Warrington
Seen this myself
It's ex rental discs and doesn't have a digital copy if anyone is buying with that in mind

Head have loads of good blu ray triple play for £2 upwards
Worth a look if you got one near you

A friend in Hollywood told me that Olympus has Fallen went into production after White House Down - it was basically a high-class ripoff. Everyone had heard about White House Down but Roland Emmerich took so long in pre-production, building a replica of the White House that was correct down to the last detail, that the rival production was able to take the basic idea, start production later and still finish sooner.

The earlier release of Olympus more or less guaranteed WHD would be a relative flop, because few moviegoers would pay to see the same story twice a few weeks apart.

Ripoffs like this are frequent in Hollywood - there was a cheapo version of Robin Hood released a few weeks before Kevin Costner's panto version - but that was barely noticed because they didn't have the huge marketing budget Olympus was given.

As a dumb action movie it's not utterly crap. Ten years ago it would have had Steven Seagal in it instead of Gerard Butler. Thank God that fat twerp has got a full-time job as Vladimir Putin's bumchum.

I quite enjoyed it. As said, very similar to Die Hard, with a bit of Taken, though not as good as either. Better than White House Down IMO.

Both films are farcical obviously, but this was infinitely better than White House down, which was just beyond cringeworthy with the girl in it, not to mention utterly ludicrous logic to the plot. Olympus has Fallen is just a decent old school style terrorist film. If people like 24 and such like, they would enjoy this most likely.

This movie could have been so much better but sadly sucked.

Worth 4 quid - just!

Kermode said wrongly that WHD was better then OHF .. Olympus was rubbish but watchable rubbish .. whereas Whitehouse really was unwatchable to the point of wanting to switch it off . .it wasn't a spoof . it took itself seriously an that was its mistake.

So yeah for four quid .. .worth a punt ...

I saw it the other way 'round.
Both films had serious plot holes and were quite ridiculous - but OHF tried to be serious. WHD didn't take itself too seriously, and benefited from it - in the Die Hard mold.
Then again, I'm not a fan of Gerard Butler - I've only liked him in Law Abiding Citizen.

Good deal if you wanted to buy it, no idea why in the world anyone would want to buy it though!! Awful film

Damn, thought it was an online deal. Updated to reflect the deal is in the local Bromley store.

Top film! Wish it was online

worst movie ever....do not buy unless you are brain dead !!!!!!!!!!

Terrible film fo sho

great film great price bring it on:)

What really annoys me in both these films is he ease with which these mercenaries take out an entire army of elite soldiers. I actually laughed out loud at one point when they walked up behind highly trained operatives and killed every one of them with one bullet each.

Hey Hollywood, do you know what body armor is for? It doesn't just look nice. It's actually armor, for your body.

Rant over :-)
