Olympus M.Zuiko Pro Digital ED 12-40mm F2.8 Lens Cheapest Price from UK seller SRS Microsystem - £769
Obviously this is not a lens for everyone, but rather high end amateurs and professional photographers. This is the cheapest price (other than grey-imports) so far this lens.
I own a copy, which barely leaves my 2nd E-M1 body; great weather-sealed build, corner-to-corner sharpness, even wide-open, a constant f/2.8 aperture and a focal length 24-80mm. What else to ask from a lens?

Go for the 45mm f/1.8. It sells for around £200 -less on eBay. Amazing lens and probably the best value/performance lenses I ever tried.
A real-world review, by Steve Huff: stevehuffphoto.com/201…ff/
Also have a look for the 60mm f/2.8 -£350-380. It is a tad bigger and slower, but it has a longer reach and can serve as a macro lens as well.
45mm/1.8 - £150 at cex with 12 mth g'tee
The 60mm sigma is getting very good reviews in the portrait range ~£125.
Try an old manual 50mm f1.7 or similar ~ £15 plus £10 for adapter , a 58mm/1.4 or such may be as cheap as £30 - search ebay.
I have an OM 50mm f1.8 but not considered the adapter. so manybon ebay. is there a particular one to go for?
thanks for the tip re cex.
I have found some also on cash converters.
Thanks for your advice. Very kind
All the adaptors are more or less the same. Get the cheapest one and it will be fine. Just prepare for manual focusing and exposure. The first is easy, the second not so much. :-P
If you don't mind spending £150, my vote is still on the 45mm! I can't recommend that lens enough
Cannot justify this lens deal for myself as just a casual snapper!!
As I said, this isn't for everyone... Personally even if I stopped working as a photographer 3 years ago, I still like to have high-end gear.
I love the value/performance of those primes! My next lens should be the 25mm from Oly.
Im aiming for that 45mm f1.8
but came across a 35mm f2.8.
Less light and 35mm but only £40.
its on the cex website
