This is pretty cool if you are an OMD fan. Never seen before footage of last year's Hammersmith Apollo show.
We are really excited to announce OMD: Live From Your Sofa! This is an online gig featuring never before seen footage of the whole of last year's Hammersmith Apollo show.
The footage will premiere at 8pm (UK time) on YouTube on Saturday 9th May. This will mean everyone watching will see it all at the same time. We hope that this means that fans are able to join each other digitally for the gig.
Hopefully many will be able to access YouTube through their TV.

Yeah, I'll be round after dinner.
Some Stella would be good, if you're at the shop.

Is she going too?
Is there an easy way to record live YouTube streams like this?
Thanks. That’s tonight sorted.

YouTube ripper, or similar stream rippers.
4k Video Downloader is pretty good.
Last time I saw OMD live was in 1993 at the UEA, pitiful turnout, about 20% full, but they still gave their best.
I usually use Any Video Converter but does it work with a live stream as opposed to "normal" videos?

Cheers - many thanks for that. I first saw OMD for my birthday in 1980 and met them afterwards.
oh my dayzzzzzzzz blud
I’m really enjoying this. Thanks for posting. Sent it out to all my family and we are all watching in different parts of the country. Great.
Saw them at the Birmingham leg of this tour, a great show and v hard to believe this is their 40th anniversary. Andy McCluskey still sound great and is sooooo energetic - a great frontman for a classic band. Enjoyed watching this tonight
That was great.
Simply fantastic!
They were very very good
Thanks Andy - great post for something that had a great feelgood factor.
They must be gutted about the recent passing Florian Schneider.
Does stuff like this stay up? Or is it a case of missed it now?
I was there for the 20/11/19 concert

There's an option to download the gig on the page if you subscribe to a trial of YouTube premium.
Brilliant
Really enjoyed this. Took me right back to my youth. Thanks for posting it.
Awesome to watch. I had noticed it's on repeat loop for a short while too.
Seen them live numerous times.
Recording is via a fixed unit at rear of hall but still is awesome to watch like you're there. Sound is off mixing desk so is excellent.
Nice idea of the band to do this. Shame more don't.

Many thanks for that. Once the stream finished I was able to use my trusty Any Video Converter with no problems.

Nah Electricity seems to be the fave of many artists and fans - Vince Clarke said it was what got him into electronic music!
Bought back memories last night watching this as was at concert last year for my birthday. My husband bought me tickets as a surprise present for gig in London. First group I see live about 40 years ago & seen quite a few times since. Love Enola Gay & Electricity too! Was seeing them local this Sept.at Let's Rock Essex but been postponed to next Sept.cant wait now!
Who are OMD? I have a feeling I might be in the age group to be too young to know this group (I am in my early 40's) seeing as I haven't heard of them.

You would've been 8-10 when they were a big thing so maybe a bit young depending on how into music your peer groups were at the time.

More than half the population are older so they are well remembered 😁
