Yes people still use these, they exfoliate and lift beard hairs away from the face to allow for the razor to cut the hair rather than pull it, this way also allows more hair to be shaved per pass if you use a safety razor (double or single edge).
Like any products gels and foam in a can were made to support our ever expanding need to rush around, thrrefore, contains a lot of ingrediants that are not good for your face, personally i use shave creams that need a brush as i enjoy taking the time to lather up, mens grooming is seen as a bit of a taboo to many but i enjoy taking half an hour each day after a shower to do my routine however, if you prefer "canned goo" and it works for your lifestyle, my friend you carry on there is no right way just different ways 😁

Also comes in a grey and a green colour too. Thought about buying one as a spare but couldn't find any reviews.

I'm happy with it so far. My previous brush was by Omega I believe- but rebranded by Men-U - and it lasted for years.

They've been making brushes for painting and shaving since the 1930s, so they know their stuff.
How firm is it please
I've had a couple of Omega shaving brushes for a long time and you can't go wrong with this brand.

It's made of boar hair so harder than badger's hair and therefore cheaper. However I find it better then badger's ones as I have thick and hard facial hair so need harder brush as well. This is an excellent brush and a bargain.
Ordered! Thanks OP,
OK unless you have any conscience re: animal cruelty. This is no different to buying fur.

Orrrrr, it's just part of the food chain and this creates less waste and therefore has sweet FA to do with fur or cruelty.
Not tried this make before..... Ordered & heated.
Yet another shave brush for my shave kit..... think i have enough (5) now.
I just rub stick on my face and foam up with my hand. Messing about with a brush and trying to store it while wet was to much of a pain. Why make it so complicated.

Not trying to be funny, but what made you come to the conclusion that it was far superior? they all look very similar to me.

Neither has a proper description so I think you have a market stall brush from Italy.

"See what I mean"? Not really- you've linked to a £21 German shaving brush with some blurb about its faux tortoiseshell handle.
I just ordered this for my 1st brush set, looks good for an extra £4 with a stand and shave foam.

Had this brush delivered and used it for the first time today.....
Not too sure about it, it seems too firm for my liking. Never bothered washing it first as its supposed to be sterilized and it definitely had no funk smell to it, it even made me wonder if its synthetic. Didn't lather up well using my usual shave soap, nowhere near as good as my badger hair brush, it wasn't even as good as my cheapo Wilkinson Sword brush that i've had for years.
I'm hoping it just needs breaking in a bit and will get better.
One good point, it didn't lose even a single bristle, which is pretty good for a new brush.

Received mine yesterday, used the method on this video to speed up the break in period, worth trying.

Last night i washed it a few times with shower gel. The brush seems better now, the bristles have softened and dont seem as firm now.
I reckon it will produce much better lather on my next shave.
Used mine last night. I liked the firmness. Usually use a kent silver tip which is a little too soft. So this was a nice change
At the risk of undermining my own deal, I have to admit that my brush developed a fault in little over a month- a 1cm crack appeared in the plastic near the bristles. I don't recall dropping it or misusing it.

On the plus side, ShaveLounge sent a replacement immediately- very impressive!
