Why does every deal over £100 seem to attract the ‘it’s non essential, don’t waste your furlough money, the future is bleak, the world is ending next month etc.’

I appreciate lots of people/families are in difficult times, but the world is still turning. Lots of people/families still have a stable job, income & savings. There is a silver lining to everything, and if saving £££ on buying watches, property, shares or anything else that seems a bargain right now is great ‘if’ you have the means to do so.

Crack on if you have the £££. Don’t stress about it if you don’t. The economy needs to chug along some how.
Ignore the haters. This is a good deal shared and what this site was set up for. Lately HUKD has become like Twitter where people rant at the rich or those who have chosen to work harder in life.

I like Omega, I like the Seamaster....but I don't like this. Heat for deal though.

Question - will prices go down further as the crisis continues? Whats peoples opinion on the speedmaster moonwatch ?

I think demand has probably dropped, similarly to the 2009 crash - but I think the difference is that supply has completely stopped as well - so I don't think we will see any massive price changes

Maybe I'm wrong tho
Looks like a Casio to me 😁
£400 saving isn't much of a deal on a watch at this price point for me. In normal circumstances you could easily haggle that type of saving in-store. Appriciate its not normal circumstances, but given the wider context any type of deal like this should be only getting heat if saving £1k plus

Indeed, on the non-high demand pieces you'd want to be looking at 10-20% - the Seamaster itself is pretty iconic for Omega and good for 10% anywhere but the chrono should be aiming for 20%, less demand for these. I've said it before too, but even the likes of Goldsmiths, Beaverbrooks etc have a little leeway if you ask for discount - just ask, nothing to lose!
Yh well I'm so rich I will pay the full price
It's a watch. Freezing.
Fantastic looking watch. Great price. If I was serious about a watch purchase I’d be all over this. Heat.

Cheers for comment. Could I ask why this particular model ? They seem to start around £3k ?
These discounts are not great, wait it out. Got my Seamaster for 30%, dont bite yet. Waiting to bite on a Moonwatch myself.

This one has a better movement than the £3600 one and also has the exhibition back case and i simply dont like the look of the racing version.
That being said if you get too hung up on the spec you could end up spending more than you need to and it is doubtful you will recover that cash, if you want an investment buy a Rolex. At the end of the day it should be down to personal choice, it is a lot of money so buy whichever one you feel happy with which in my opinion is difficult to judge without physically seeing the watch - obviously difficult at present.

Thought i did well getting 20% off mine but 30% is exceptionally good, which Seamaster was it and where did you get it

Looks Ike it would be a pain in the bottom to see the time on that. Only issue with white faced watches for me.
I'm sorry, but not a good deal at all. If you are after this, wait until the shops re-open. I bought this last year , when the RRP was the same price. I bought it from Jamieson & Carry in Aberdeen for £3300. Most dealerships will give discount in store, especially as this is now a discontinued watch, and has been replaced by the new Seamaster.

Nice one

i got this one from Ernest Jones instore for £3900 but it was last year just before they put the prices up and the retail at the time was about £4940 so about 22% discount

Because never is there so clearly a division between the haves and the have nots than a HUKD expensive watch thread. Anyone who can afford this is clearly minted, and as most people on this site are looking for inexpensive bargains, things like this just feel like rich people rubbing it in everyone's faces regarding how much money they've got. Just my opinion tho, I may be wrong

Save yourself a few hundred. beaverbrooks.co.uk/010…h/p
Was tempted to pull the trigger on this yesterday, but I've decided to hold out for the O21030445106001

This ticks all the boxes but like the glass back, twin barrel and wave dial

I can get it for £600 off from an AD - I know this is a good deal, but want it to be sub £5k - anyone have any thoughts whether this is realistic?

I wouldn't say people who can afford these watches are minted. Lots of people buy them as a special treat, Special Birthdays anniversaries or someone has overcome an illness. Maybe they have reached an age where the Mortgage has been paid off and the have some additional spare cash. Maybe their savings accounts have matured, and now have access to savings.

All these people complain about people who purchase these types of things. Yet those people spend thousands on Alcohol and Cigarettes each year. Or worse they could be into drugs, from the Wackie Backie to stronger things. OR maybe the spend money on gaming and all the latest tech. Maybe they spend it on holidays each year.

Look on the watch sites, I nearly bought that one last month from Germany £4600 (new) including delivery, the Pandemic was showing signs of being serious, so decided to hold off.
