Got a feeling this will get voted down but this is a very good price for this watch. Generally it is very hard to get significant discounts on Omega's unless you go down the Grey Import route. Was and still is in store £2760!

good deal for anyone with 500 quids worth of tesco vouchers which are quadrupled at goldsmiths-would be the cheapest seamaster ever!

Top quality watch, even the fake versions are quality! I bought a genuine Seamaster when I first went to sea in 1983 and it still looks great today.

Can you use the tesco vouchers online then?

Would disagree, most fakes are cheaply made and of an inferier quality to the original.

No, also not in outlet versions of Goldsmiths.

However a bit of purchasing & returning might get you a gift card, but sometimes you get a credit note which won't work on-line.

Found some change down the sofa last night - so I'm going to get one.

Sorry but only 10 in stock

Something to consider.. I jsut bought myself an Omerga DeVille (RRP £1750)

- local jeweller near me, authorised, will sell it to me for £1300. Independent jewellers will knock off VAT and a bit more, and if you can visit a few to compare a few prices then you will get a good deal. This is if I pay by cash or credit card.
- If I pay in Tesco vouchers at Goldsmiths I will have to pay RRP (i.e. £1750/4 in vouchers).

So it really does come down to a balancing act between whether I want to sacrifice £1750/4 in Tesco vouchers to convert to Golsmiths vouchers, or pay £1300. I still went down the Tesco vouchers route :-)

Something else re Goldsmiths. The watch I recently bought had a leather strap and I have a wide wrist which meant I needed an extra-long strap. Now Goldsmiths insist on charging me an extra £200 for the extra long strap, rather than just giving me extra long strap in place of the regular one. So they were going to sell me the watch with regular strap, plus extra long strap, which is a bit ridiculous. I contacted Omega Switzerland who said that they regularly have issued with Goldsmiths pulling tricks like this, so I settled for getting the watch with a regular strap, and Omega have said that they'd be able to swap the regular for extra-long strap for me, at no cost, at one of their boutiques.

Hope this helps.. I have an omega seamaster from 2005 and love it :-)

Cue the pathetic comments from people who have absolutely no interest in buying a luxury item. Can we not just discuss it on it's merits rather than the ever so predictable and poor attempts at humour? I doubt it somehow!

You cant use Tesco clubcard vouchers at the outlet stores, only on the High Street stores.

You can use them online now, but you have to fill in an order form and send your vouchers off.

If you work for a certain high street bank, you can get a 25% discounted giftcard, which brings this fella in at £1,552.50. Nice one!

I got this watch over a year ago from Ernest Jones for less than £2k.

CJ

EDIT: It's £2,180 now, but you get 14% Quidco there, so it would work out cheaper at £1,874.80.

Totally agree most independent retailers will give you a discount if you haggle as they are not officially allowed to discount... I bought a seamaster of my local dealer and got 20% off.

well there's proof that quality timepieces are an investment! bought the same watch only with a blue face for £1150 (grey import) a few years ago.

Whilst it might be a juggling decision as to whether to use cash (nice if you have it spare for a watch) or use Tesco vouchers, you only have 1 month to use those Tesco vouchers and get this watch for roughly £500 of vouchers, as after December 1st (think) the cost in Tesco vouchers will be nearer £700 as the £4 for £1 reduces to £3 for £1.

Although I take your point, I actually take exception to patronising posts like this. I for one would think it would be a very sad day if this site lost the humour and entertainment value - you can still rate an item without being über-serious.

That's a different watch - model number 2594.52.00 retails for £2760 and the model I think you are talking about is 213.30.42.40.01.001 which retails for £2180. I own the later.

Goldsmiths were really nice to me when I bought one. Even threw in a strap for my Wife's Longines.

The watch is beautiful. So is my Wife - she bought the watch for me as an Xmas present :-)

That is flipping disgraceful. Shame on you Goldsmiths! When I wanted an extra long chain on a necklace I bought from H.Samuels, even they gave me money off a new one and I certainly wasn't spending anything like the amount that you were. Well done to Omega for their customer service!

I this the current coax model?

You'll probably find it got pulled - people were being asked for their staff numbers when they rung.

Nice watch can i wear it in the bath

Do omega make their own movements or are they modified ETA's?
I've been checking out various used watches recently, Sub 14060m, and Sea Dweller 16600. This omega looks quite tasty too.

They are modified ETA in the main but since they own ETA you could still say it is in house. They have vastly scaled back the supply of cheap ETA 2824 movements in the last year to try and build a bit more exclusivity for it.

I have an Automatic Seamaster, paid 2 Grand for it, amazing watch.

Beautiful watch and very good investment at this price!

Or you could get the James Bond version even cheaper:
