Goldsmith's currently have 10% off on Sale items which makes this Omega cheaper than the Beaverbrooks offer & Ernest Jones offer.

Good price for a watch with a very good movement.

The Beaverbrooks offer was only for the Black colour watch whereas, Goldsmith's have all colours in stock.

Bought 10 for eBay

You’d be better selling that joke on the tablet Moses carved it on. Will make much more.

Are these limited edition/anniversary models become desirable after some time by watch aficionados or noone cares?

Probably become desirable after after 20 years if you kept the original box and paperwork. Who knows....

Nobody cares with Omega, they are always releasing special edition watches. Very few old their value at retail.

Shame, I find Omega watches more elegant than Rolex, but yeah, I hear everybody says that don't hold their value very well.
They have an Aqua Terra for £2800 as well, that’s a nice looking watch though nato strap only.
Quirky gimmicks dont go well for a high end watch maker is my opinion. And looking at some of there offerings over the last few months i think they've lost the plot design wise.
Some Omega hold value well due to price rises and inflation! get a seamaster diver or moonwatch (the standard SS versions on a bracelet) and you probably wont go far wrong in the long run. Price negotiation is esential to this though.

I take it this won’t go like the 55” 4K branded fifa 2018 down to 1/4 of the price due to branding on screen
So what makes this so expensive - is it the name alone? I'm guessing they are made to an incredibly high standard? It looks a bit plain to be worth so much, but I have no clue, just intrigued.

They are indeed made to a high standard and brand prestige always effects price but this watch has in particular this movement its a METAS certified master chronometer. This link will show you just whats involved in attaining that standard. Omega watches are in one word incredible.

All premium watches are over priced, I owned a Omega seamaster a while ago It was the quartz version, I was amazed when I popped the back off to find what was a plastic movement, dont get me wrong these watches are good quality but you are paying way over the price for the name, you only have to look at Rolex, 11 grand for a watch that fakers can now make and even the main dealers/experts struggle to differentiate. As long as people will pay the price these things will sell, are they good value? NO

Not sure why you were amazed to find the quartz movement was plastic...?

Just holding a real Rolex to the fake I think most dealers would tell the difference check out Paul Thorpe on you tube I don't think many 'real' watch dealers would be duped by a fake.

I never understood why people even consider a fake Rolex just don't buy a fake...don't buy a fake anything its just pointless cant afford something don't buy it, look at Steinhart watches for a good 'homage' to Rolex or buy a Tudor if you can afford a bit more, plus you don't have to pay 11k to get one look at an Explorer 1, Air King classic watches....

When you buy Rolex I would agree super expensive, but your buying into the history behind the company and lets not forget the research and yes all that branding, marketing someone has to pay for that...say what you like about Rolex the brand is beyond compare to any other, hype or otherwise.

Also 'are they good value' depends what model you buy as stated above and which company - look at the value retention, buy a quartz omega full price from an ad and I suspect you will lose a ton of money, buy a Rolex GMT master 2.....yes very different story.....that's IF you can even get one from an AD....waiting list....waiting list....waiting list....waiting list....so is a GMT master 2 good value....uhhh hell yes IF you can buy one from an AD...not from a grey dealer.

I would have expected a reasonable quality movement in a £1000 plus watch, why would I not?, I have a Tudor pelagos at the moment but have really always wanted a Rolex, I would need something around 44mm so that unfortunately narrows the options for me
Pelagos is a superb watch blue or black...lovely!
