Let’s go round again! So to get things moving, I will start it off with the following comments to save others the effort.

1. Thanks OP, I bought 10 for FleaBay.
2. My £10 Casio is more accurate than this.
3. Cheers OP, I bought 4 for the Dog.
4. I prefer my (insert name of completely unrelated watch) and I am just here to willy wave.
5. Ridiculous, I could get a second hand car for that price.
6. This is a deals site, people on here don’t have that much money to waste on a watch.
7. Why do I need a watch when I have a phone?
8. Ridiculous, I could lease a basic family car for approx 24 Months for that price.
9. Pah, Hardlex, I’ll pass. (sorry, wrong thread).
10. Expensive for a rebadged Swatch.
11. 150m WR and worn no deeper than desk level.
12. Looks like something I’d buy in Argos/Matalan/Home Bargains/Etc.
13. Cold, I bought mine in 1980 oat cake and it was cheaper than this.
14. Cheers OP I bought one for each wrist.
15. We need to rename this site Hot UK Rich People’s Deals.
16. The Rich (an undefined group) are responsible for all the worlds problems.
17. I bet i could find the exact same one in Benidorm for a fiver
18.Yes please, i'll take 20!
19. Never heard of that brand
20. Why anyone would spend that on a watch is beyond me
21. I'll have to wait till I get my imaginary bonus.
22. £X on a watch?? I'd be scares to wear it!!
23. Some people don't half waste money when they have it.

Feel free to add any other classics

Depends on how big an ego trip trip you’re on I suppose.;)

If you buy a fake, you are kidding yourself.

If you wouldn't spend that much on a watch out of principle or through affordability/prioritising your money into other spending, why would you buy a snide to make people think you have.

You are on an ego trip if you want people to notice your watch, snide or not. A colleague got a cheap quartz Tag over Christmas and has spent the last week at work with his left shirt sleeve rolled up at the cuff to highlight it.

On leather? Really? This is one of my favourite watches, I loved the Bond one on a nato and I love them on their steel, but leather looks wrong.

Baldricky is selling Hardlex out the boot of his Mondeo. he knows I’m kidding, I didn’t vote cold mate, nor would I, just for leather strap.
I don't get this place. People seem to vote things cold because it's a high value object that some people can't afford, rather than the fact it's actually discounted and cheaper than anywhere else.

I also reckon it's down to time of day. When the other posts for watches were put live this afternoon most went hot...evening posts for expensive items dont...must be the post work anger/jealousy rage. Shame. This is a cracking deal if you have the money for it.
That is one chavvy looking swatch. £77.52 and we have a deal.
You could buy a good replica(the shops in Turkey are full of them) and only you will know the difference. You can then give the difference to your favourite charity and feel good about yourselves.

I must admit, as Omegas go, I'm not a fan. I don't like the colour scheme, the fact it looks showy and massive, or the leather strap. I like my understated but handsome Speedmaster 57 in stainless steel and dark blue face.
Looks great. Heat added

It’s all about street cred I suppose. But in all fairness people probably need the genuine watches to go with their personalised number plates ( especially those that put their name underneath for added emphasis).
Heat from me but I’m just not feeling this particular model. For me, I think it’s the strap- just doesn’t go with the watch in my opinion.

Hmmm maybe but you'd still know and youd still look at the genuine watches and be in envy of them.

I dont really wear watches but still can see this is a great deal.
Just a thought, but to cut out mindless cold voting, why not force anyone who votes a listing as cold, be made to link to the same item where they've found it cheaper? Seems to me that most vote cold because they don't like what's posted or they think it's expensive. Gives a false sense of a deal to people scrolling through.

HUKD would never do that as it means applying commonsense. Would be nice to hear why they wouldn't

When it comes to watches, those who are genuinely in the market for a good deal, will tend to know what’s what. Thus they will see past the cold votes and judge any deal on its own merits.

Maybe, but you could say the same about anything really. What you've mentioned here really just negates the need for this entire website. If someone was genuinely in the market for anything they've likely got an idea about whether what's being offered is a good price or not. Shouldn't be the case that people can just blindly apply a cold vote for no other reason than they don't like something. Let's be honest, this cold voting isn't just done on watches.

I very much idly browse through deals based on heat a lot of the time and I've seen quite a lot of "hot deals" on here that have really confused me. I've seen some things where there's been a few quid off an item (I'm talking £1 or £2) priced below £30 and it's gained huge heat. Then something like this where there's literally thousands off and it's cold. Makes little sense.

Not just because it's my idea, but I think it's a good approach to offer more realistic heat ratings to posts.

There's also the fact that HUKD have affiliate schemes now so they are incentivised to over heat and manufacture positive responses to certain products. What this site was set up to be and how it was to be used is no more. You even get mods patrolling removing posts they don't like if it doesnt fit with their progressive woke opinions and agenda.

I agree completely with the sentiment and reasoning and you are correct, the voting logic of many skews deals and prevents deals worthy of heat popping up on users general deals radar. This applies to illogical Hot and Cold items.

Not upset, confused. These are big, heavy watches with a very masculine design. That’s why they used them in James Bond. I admit, this isn’t my colour choice, but at that size you’d need to be Gemma Collins to wear one! Definitely men’s watches.

Can’t help but notice a certain condescending tone about your comments.

Like it or not, people acquire wealth at differing rates, depending upon what it is that they can do/have done. In addition to this, people will also spend their acquired wealth in different ways, in accordance with what they hold in high regard. Some will choose to spend on watches, while others will choose to spend on expensive electrical items.

The list is endless; personalised number plates, property, gambling, holidays, cars, divorces, alcohol (or other things) and illegitimate children to name a few. The point is that this has no bearing on whether or how much that individual is likely to donate a portion of their earnings to good causes.

If it helps you justify whatever envy or sour grapes attitude you appear to harbour, by assuming that an elite group of individuals exist, who spend all their money on expensive watches and personalised number plates, donate nothing to charity and spit on peasants in the street, then I suggest you make a new year’s resolution to reassess your outlook on others with an open mind.

A person’s wealth or choice of purchases are not a template for assuming their generosity or attitude. Imagine if we adopted the same outlook for other items... “You have an expensive monthly television package; you’re a reckless narcissist and give nothing back to society!”. Suddenly everyone is guilty.
Encouraging people to donate responsibly to good causes is a positive endeavour, assuming that because people buy a watch that they like that they are selfish is not.

In closing, I really hope you practice what you preach. There are far too many people flying the donate flag, who believe this is enough and appear to do little or nothing themselves.
