Why are these deals still being posted? They have been this price for ages?
Not really they were this price somewhere around Easter i think. Then they have been about 25 quid until this week. Only a fiver off but still a saving.

also this is a cheaper way of connecting ur sky box or tv to the internet than a wireless dongle or skys official wireless adapter so may be useful to some people hence why the other post is at 1300 degrees
and possible 3% back from quidco
Great news regarding price match. I was all this time so I can use my vouchers with this.
Ok fair reply, I just remember purchasing these myself over a month ago after seeing about 3 previous deal posts!

Haven't actually used them yet!
Hooked mine up today so I can run a pc in the spare room 23ms ping through 2 extension leads isn't too shabby
Do these work through an extension lead?

yes with no problems

yes with no problems

I can confirm this too. I was worried particularly is it was a surge protected extension lead, but makes absolutely no difference and I'm absolutely delighted with mine, which turned up earlier today. Literally 1 minute to connect them up to my XBox and router.

If you use them on an extension lead with lots of transformers, you might see a tiny difference. Certainly you ought to see a difference if you use them on a surge protected lead, as these filter out the frequencies in which the adapters operate. If you're not bothered about your speed at all then by all means go down the most practical route (using extension leads and surge protectors), however if you're streaming HD video, gaming or even just watching videos on YouTube then you should find a better place to plug them in.
bought it in pc world and its mint watching 1080p netflix via this link on my tv np
I've got a different brand of these adapters running at 85mbps, & am now finding that watching 'higher quality' video on the BBC iplayer is problematic (didn't have this problem until a couple of months ago).

Does anyone know if buying 200mbps adapters would solve this, or is it all down to the Internet speed anyway?

Cheers!

can be hit and miss
you are best to plug it into a wall socket, get it working then try it in an extension
else you could be there all day trying
some people say you loose speed through an extension cable

Also using with an extension lead with no problems.

I ran a couple of speed tests last night to check the connection and here are the results;

Laptop direct to Router with Ethernet cable
Ping = 53ms
Download = 6.00 Mbps
Upload = 0.36 Mbps

Laptop to adapter to mains plug--->adapter to router
Ping = 45ms
Download = 5.81 Mbps
Upload = 0.36 Mbps

I also opened up a couple of Youtube videos with both connections and could not notice any difference at all.
Yippee! Another home plug deal!

Oh wait... they have been this price FOREVER!

Most will work fine, the only issues I've come accross was using them on a surge protected multiplug.
