Nice find. Even as a backup in case of emergencies it's worth the price but if the reviews are anything to go by it is better than that.

Hot, £8.99 for a wireless ADSL Modem router

Cheap as chips, heat added.

Hmmmmmmm buy one of these and perhaps send back the TD-W8970 tp link I just received from Amazon, my download speeds are slow and I only purchased to replace my old bt hub! Deliema!

Superb deal, and brilliant reviews. Thanks for the heads up

Sorry for noob question, but can this be used as a repeater??

Has anyone found this to be better then BT's own Homehub?

Ordered to keep as a spare/back up.

Thanks.

handy little back up router

Plus free next day delivery for qualifying accounts

Talk Talk sent me the same Modem router last summer and it was so slow i went back to my old Netgear one that doesnt have any updates for the last few years but it is much faster than the N150.

....and WPS isn't secure....at all....depending on how they've implemented it.

Quality price for a router.

Which HH? BT have already made 5 generations, so if you gave us the info on which HH you have it would help answer your question.

Blah forgot about the different models, one I've got is a Homehub 4.

Five? Are you sure? I've just been given the latest one (HH4)

Edit- just checked Wiki - seems like new customers get the older models, nice...

LordDerek

Blah forgot about the different models, one I've got is a Homehub 4.

Thanks. Now, I don't personally have the router from this deal, but looking at the spec sheet, the HH4 has a gigabit ethernet port while the On Networks doesn't, so the HH4 should perform better if using a cable and being connected to that one gigabit port. From the spec sheet it looks like the On Network only uses 2.4GHz while the HH4 uses both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. From what I know, that means that if your speed isn't the best at 2.4, you can try 5GHz, and there might be less people using that frequency, making less interferrence, and thus a generally faster internet speed.
To be honest, I think your HH4 is better than the router in the deal, but the deal one looks perfect if you need to get a second router for whatever reason (eg. spare, access point, repeater etc.). If the HH4 isn't giving you problems, don't bother changing it. If you are having some problems, try fiddling around in the settings and changing things like the frequency of the signal. HTH

Are they really? That's not nice of them, at all. I used to have a HH3, but when I moved house and the engineer came to do his thing, he just replaced that with a HH5.

there was two versions of the hh2!

The Gigabit port on the hh4 is used as a wan port. so it may be not as useful as you may expect

I just got a TP-Link one last week as well to replace my horrible D-Link TalkTalk one that is a PoS

I have just purchased one to find out for myself. My HH3 was giving speeds of about 1.2 Mbps, bought a HH4 and speed dropped to 0.8 Mbps (absolutely ****). Previously was with Virgin and getting a solid 2 Mbps.
Hopefully this cheepo router might bring some needed improvement. I'll keep you posted.

Seems like they only give the HH5 for new Infinity connections and normal BB get the HH4....but if you already have a HH4 it will cost you £69 to upgrade....!!!!

I'll take a stab with a cheap one. BT HH3 and HH4 are crap as far as I am concerned, or maybe just BT is crap.

Because Ebuyer choose to use that bunch of ****. What is there not to understand about that? Ebuyer used to use CityLink, they were even worse. Ebuyer are ultimately responsible for the safe delivery of items they offer for sale. If Yodel are ****, as they are, Ebuyer should use a more reliable service.
