Looks like good spec for the price. Some comments on GB say the screen & camera could be better. How about the system on this one?

For this price you really can't complain.

Yep it was £121.11 the other day

I think the £121 is the Pro version

It should have that already on there, it plays games at an OK level too if that's what you want it for.

plus custom charges...

Custom charges????? What you mean.

Pluses
- a lot of hardware for a very keen price.
- the hi res 10" screen will be the star of the show and that's what you buy a tablet to do; look at it.

Minuses
- no meaningful warranty
- little chance of future android updates (but comes with Nougat).
- possibly may have a few minor niggles/bugs to contend with due to the short development times these cheap Chinese tablets are given.

If we were talking £500 for a phone, then i would think twice about taking the risk but i have purchased a few cheap and cheerful tablets from Gearbest and not regretted it. Hot from me.

If you go for the standard shipping then there is usually no customs charge but pay extra for 'expedited shipping' and you more than likely will be. Couriers like DHL are sh*t hot at imposing customs and admin charges.

Seems good for movies , YouTube and web surfing which most people use tablets for . Hot

How would this be for games such as Star Wars KOTOR and POGO?
Edited by: "solarfreak" 8th Nov

They're really stretching the definition of a phablet

Stonking price for such a spec

On an yt review video, there is a comment of bootloop issue after a week of use..maybe one off but it put me off.

Looking for a tablet for a crimbo present. how does this compare to the Lenovo Tab 3 10.1 Inch 16GB Tablet?

My nexus 7 ( 2013 ) is still going strong but want something a little bigger to watch movies on train/plane journeys. Will give this a go for £70 with the shipping insurance. Looks good for the money on the you tube reviews .

Please could you let me know your opinion? How would this compare with Amazon Fire HD 8? Should I wait until Black Friday? Thanks.

I have the fire hd 8. It’s so locked down I’ve side loaded play store and it’s still disappointing I really hate the launcher and I tried a launcher hijack and that was crap too. Honestly avoid it if you want anything other than something to watch a film on

Thanks BenHunt. Do you know if it’s possible to cast to chromecast?

This is far better spec, the resolution alone makes it a different league. Tab 3 and Fire HD 8 are 1280 x 800, for comparable you have to look at Tab 3 Plus or Fire HD 10 which are around £150. The Fire HD series, as with all Amazon devices, will get reduced for BF, HD 8 will likely be cheaper than this, the HD10 won't.

This has better connectivity (SIM cards) and Android 7.0, I would have purchased one but I need something wider than 16:9 ratio. Onda is a decent brand, I would get this if buying for yourself but not as gift due to return/warranty issues.

Thanks for the info. It a present for my 9 year old for Christmas was wanting to spend around £100 on a tablet to replace his hudl2 which won't turn on. Don't have much of a clue what to buy there's that many to choose from

Thanks. I don’t think the fhd 10 will be priced this low even on bf. I may take a punt on this one..

Never buy Amazon fire then. My kids don't even touch them. Very complicated tablets.

Please...I wasn’t broadbanded, I was bloody fat.

Stupid calling it a phablet.

Misleading. It is a 4G tablet. Call it a tablet phablet if you must.

Let down by the battery. But I guess you could clip a battery pack to it when need be.

I agree, but you also get charged on standard shipping too.

For example:
Recently I used my Singapore Airlines Krisflyer airmiles to purchase a 3 inch long metal plane as the miles were expiring. I had to pay £16 for standard tracked shipping via DHL which I thought was excessive as I was only getting the plane as it was free, but still paid it anyway. I did not think I would get charged customs charges on such a small item.

Now then, the plane was valued at a staggering £35 which meant when it arrived in the UK, there was an extra charge of £17. I thought "WHAT?!?!?!?!" how can there be a charge that high, let alone at all.

After asking for further information, I received the full invoice with details of the charge on. The customs charge was £5 and the remaining £12 WAS AN ADMIN FEE FROM DHL FOR HAVING TO PROCESS A CUSTOMS CHARGE.

I paid the fee as it was a gift for my son. But needless to say, I will be VERY wary of ordering anything from outside the EU again.

Yep, a phabet is exactly what it sounds like - a phone and a tablet together.

I too read the title, and thought what would be the point of a phone that is 10.1 inches big

Nope, it is a TabPhone surely.
Tablet 1st, phone 2nd(or never for many users)
Sent from my Tabphone, one that has never been used for a phone call.

And yes, I just made up the word TabPhone but someone has to, just like why Phablet became a word.

I'm looking for something like this but in 8inch form factor. Planning to put it in my car on the dashboard but 10" will be too big.

Any recommendations please fire away
(PS: needs 4G so I can have accurate GPS)
