PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Crabby and cranky, ill tempered and irritable – all these things and more combined to make the character of Victor Meldrew, played by Richard Wilson, one of the best loved in the history of British comedy. Joined by long suffering wife Margaret (Annette Crosbie) and neighbours Patrick (Angus Deayton) and Pippa (Janine Duvitski), the irascible Victor made One Foot in the Grave one the biggest comedy hits of the 1990s. At its peak the series attracted a staggering 19 million viewers, and even now repeats regularly draw audiences of 10 million.

The 12 disc Complete One Foot in the Grave Boxset contains all six wonderful series, each of the enormously popular Christmas specials, including the wonderful “One Foot in the Algarve”, and commentaries with Richard Wilson and writer David Renwick.

One Foot in the Grave originally premiered in January 1990 with the story of an already peevish security guard being forcibly retired and replaced with a box. Since then, Victor has been bitterly complaining his way into the hearts of the British nation. The series was voted by the public as one of the top ten British sitcoms of all time and received countless awards, including two BAFTAs for Richard Wilson.

That's a lot of laughs for £10

...wait for it......
I don't believe it

Astonishing price for arguably one of the funniest, best written and well acted sitcoms from the last 30 years! A steal for a tenner...

Great price and series but can be a little depressing when you try watch the entire series in succession though.

Original Poster

Glad to have been of some help...must admit it's one of a few programmes that still never fails to make me laugh despite the fact I've seen them all before several times...a rare thing these days....so wish I hadn't bought it when it first came out on DVD as I certainly paid a "premium" price compared to what it is now!!!

4291?! ;-)

Never seen it and probably never will... I'm in denial, I don't want to accept that Victor is dead

They should have just ended it with a regular show imo but David Renwick wanted complete closure as far as I know? - sure its mentioned in the audio commentary.

True sign of a classic well written sitcom is that no matter how many times you watch it and know what is going to happen you still end up crying with laughter.
Will we be saying that about sitcoms that are on now?
Bargain at this price. Hot

Is the Comic relief sketch on it? That was the best closure ever!

Bought.. Thanks
