I was after something to replace the multitude of remotes that are constantly being lost, dropped and/or chewed on before one of them breaks - I didn't fancy paying full wack for an original replacement for my Denon AV Amp. I went for the eight in one and am very impressed so far. Couldn't see anywhere else doing them for much less than RRP.

A little cheaper at Amazon for a few days back in Nov. last year.

ONE FOR ALL remotes are fine if you want to control individual appliances one at a time but unless things have changed with the latest model it gets messy when you start using macros/activities because the remote does not remember the previous power state of the appliance, so when switching activities you end up powering off some devices when they should be kept on.
Last time I asked ONE FOR ALL support, I had to ask the same question 5 times in 5 different ways before they admitted that their remotes don't store the power states of devices. And for that reason I paid an extra £10 for a Logitech Harmony.

Harmony it's the best but even they glitch and you often end up with services off that should be on and vice versa. I had an ultimate most recent but have to say it's less hassle having multiple remotes. My panny remote via veira link does and OK but not a perfect job.

Yes true even harmony goes out of sync once in a while, luckily there is a Help button and a nice Yes/No Answer/Question wizard which autocorrects the states.

I did think about a Harmony one, albeit only briefly. If it was just me using it I'd almost certainly get one, but since I want something simple that will be cheap-ish to replace when it's dropped one too many times this seemed the better bet.

From my experience I think this remote is excellent. I have a Panasonic tv, sky tv and Samsung sound bar.. I was able to control all 3 devices individually and best of all using the activity function it combines all 3 devices into one mode... so I'm able to using the volume buttons to control the sound bar, the source button to control the tv and most of the other buttons to control the sky tv box without having to switch devices on the remote.

Are the codes newer on the ofa site I have the essence 4 connected to my LG home cinema and it won't control volume via the volume button
