*Found this slightly cheaper and also in Light Grey colour - see first post.*

FYI: This is not a mech keyboard, it's a membrane (rubber dome) keyboard. The bane of my life is keyboards that wear away - this one seems to be laser-inscribed and gets good feedback for wearability.

If you want cheap and cheerful (and don't mind membrane keys), this is for you.

Letters haven't rubbed off
29 October 2018
I am a transcriber and type for average 11 hours a day. I've had this keyboard for 2 years now and the letters are still there, they may have faded very slightly as the 'Q' letter is brighter but I wholly recommend this. It's easy to type with, not too bouncy if you're a fast heavy typist. I will definitely repurchase when I need to, but if I do it won't be because the letters have faded.

Also, it's UK, not German, as verified in the Q&As/Reviews.

Question
Is this uk or german layout? the one pictured appears to be german
Answer: I received a UK layout keyboard. The product number listed is for the UK item.

  • Flat, corded keyboard including cursor and number pad
  • Whisper keystroke keys with wear-resistant laser key legends

I tend to go for illuminated "gamer" keyboards, but I've been through so many and always disappointed after a few years. I think basic and no-frills is the way to go for manic typists like myself...!

For some reason, a mod's deleted "One For The Typists?" at the beginning of the title - to highlight this keyboard's worth considering if you're a heavy user. Not sure why it's deemed unsuitable?

Unnecessary information. Also naming it cherry to try and trick you into thinking it’s mechanical.

Trying to be helpful. And it clearly says it's a membrane keyboard in the title and description - Cherry is its brand name.38309768-U7tTH.jpg

now if they called the model "MX" that would have been funny
I got myself a Cherry G84-5200 which is a smaller form-factor keyboard with mechanical switches similar to Reds, will see how I get on. And, most importantly, has the same promise of no key wear/laser-inscribed.

Was going to get a Das Keyboard, but they are pricey.
