Someone can't do math. 44.50*2=89

Someone can't do English. It's called maths, with an 's'.

I'd disagree. Whilst not the common spelling in the UK it's not incorrect.

Am I the only one initially read the word “stay” as “stand”?

If you book the Newcastle one there's a Pitcher&Piano about 20 yds away .. Go in there and buy a couple of drinks , that will relieve you of any money saved on this deal.

2 Course dinner is fixed price menu - Usually £19.95 each. Alternatively get £19.95 each put towards the Al a Carte Menu.

Are these any good for one night stands?
Great price - time for tinder

Are you American? It's maths in England.

No I'm British but my mother is Canadian. Math or Maths, either can be right regardless of language. Half of 99 is not 44.5 (which the post originally said) which in any language is wrong.

As it seems, we are doing language courses here: Do you know that "Malmaison" is a french name?
And "Mal maison" means "bad house", really nice name for an hotel

We had this conversation last week and apparently the correct wording is Math not Maths as I always called it..

It's unfortunate I think, can be taken to mean whorehouse or brothel Not a name i'd choose for a hotel brand!

I didn't realise one "does" English. It's an abbreviation. It's actually mathematics. Math /maths, what does it matter... This isn't an exam room.

Essentially £45 for a room. At Malmaison this is good. As also included:

x2 £19.95 (2 course meal)
x2 £7 Cocktails (ish)

its not £45 a room though as it states on their website:

ALL FROM £99

You're right, that is cheap but I'm sorry, that is quite specific. We also need to compare appropriately.

Malmaison - 15 locations
The White Hart - 1 Location

£99 at Malmaison for 1 night with Meal/Cocktail
£69 at The White Hart for 1 night with B&B+Meal --- Note that 3 nights does not include x3 meals, just 1.

Taking into account a 1 night stay, I'm surely right to assume that the majority of folk will not be willing to travel to Cornwall.

---- It is essentially £45 a room considering the extras - Just as The White Hart is essentially £39 for room+breakfast due to the meal costing £15pp

You are right Mathematic should be written in singular not in plural as it comes from Greek and it was written in singular in Greek. So I don't know why some Western European language put it in plural (for eg matemáticas in spanish, mathematiques in french but not in portuguese Matemática).
Blaming some one for a "s" that potentialy should be removed, is not really fair.

well each to their own I suppose, personally I would rather have an extra couple of nights b+b for £ 40 and make a long week-end of it. and on the plus side cornwall is lovely
Is this really cheap?

The Malmaison in Oxford is a former jail and the rooms are converted cells so you could stay there if you like:)
I think this needs to be £99 for it to be a good deal, I tried without this offer at Edinburgh on the same date the offer was £139, and could get dinner with 3 courses instead of 2, plus free breakfast for £143.
Prices start at/from.....
Tempted to book a Cheltenham stay but 20/23 on TripAdvisor, anyone been?
Shame it doesn't go into April for Glasgow
