25% off then add import duty at 20% and duty handling fee at £11 =£428
Not really a deal

Finally the correct price for this phone.

Best phone this year around provided you can stand the "jello effect". It drove me nuts and just couldn't use the phone.

I guess you were unlucky. I read up on the jelly effect before purchasing as I am really fussy with tech.... But lucky for me my phone has no jelly effect whatsoever.

If I bought this could I still go to one plus for any warranty issues

Very much doubt it.

Finally the correct price for this phone.

I had the oneplus 1, 2 and 3. Couldn't justify a 3t because there wasn't much difference. Oneplus 5 looks like a iPhone so my new samsung s8 was the way to go.

Very much doubt that, given it is a hardware issue and OP have stated this. I have one and haven't seen the Jelly effect so I'm not bothered if it is there or not, as long as I don't see it. I don't think this is a good deal though without a warranty. I bought mine in Malaysia for the equivalent of £375. No warranty either, but at least I could test it before coming home.

I have heard stories of OnePlus honouring warranties and repairing for free but I wouldn't count on it.

Still got my OnePlus One, but slowly becoming hard work. Really want this but cant justify the upfront cost. Never been stung with import duty on a lot of stuff ive bought, knowing my luck I would on this!

Good phone for the price.

This is a great phone

All op5 have the jelly effect because of the upside down display

I just really wish they hadn't gone with a 'traditional' design. It's so boring. The OnePlus One looked and felt both premium and unique.

Anyways, I'm liking the new S8-style bezel-less phones and I'm gonna try and hold out for one of those. Hopefully OnePlus jumps on that trend for next year.

Yeah my feelings too, wanted to go from my iPhone 7 plus to this but it just looks exactly the same!

I'm not keen on oneplus after 2 years with a oneplus Two. It's just been a bit buggy. To begin with the fingerprint reader and home button would intermittently stop working for weeks at a time. That did get fixed, then it was daily random reboots. Then the Google camera panorama modes didn't work, or worked badly. Compass always seems badly calibrated. Then the video editor in Google photos stopped working (not a Google problem as far as I can tell). Then that got fixed but Bluetooth audio went horrendously stuttery... They say the 3 is more solid but I feel a bit burned to be honest, I don't trust them.

Voted hot but i like Nokia 8 more

Really am surprised. What version did you get the 64gb or 128gb?. I tried 4 of them as went round a bunch of cex shops that had them and even in 02 but the jello was very much there. I spend work and play on my phone so I noticed it straight away.

Have you got a link for this because as far as I aware the issue is a hardware fix, which is why oneplus failed to admit as it would have probably destroyed them if they had a recall. I tried to search online but cannot find anything to suggest a software update fixes the issue.

The Oneplus customer service is shockingly bad. They use people from the forum as support advisers. They try and find a fix for the terrible buggy OS but normally they just repeat " factory reset and re install " for every problem regardless. Its not good enough and if they can't fix it that way they then want to charge you to send it back to them.

I've had all OnePlus devices and only one I had an issue with the OnePlus One, which was my own doing.

I personally feel the OnePlus 3 was the best phone I have owned by a mile. I'm tempted by the OnePlus 5.

This is coming from someone who has had all iPhones up to iPhone 6 and most Samsung's up to S7 Edge.

You're not charged for a mobile to be sent to them, the only cost incurred for shipping is if and when there is a repair to be made.

Have you owned a OnePlus device?!

Your joking right, the jelly screen is a major flaw that can not be fixed.
A second camera that only works in optimal lighting
No OIS
Still no stability on 1080 60fps
A joke OS, full of bugs.
And rest and you call this the best phone of the year, why?
Because you have one.
What happened to NEVER SETTLE

No. Pretty sure oneplus region locks their warranties

Bought 6 Oneplus phones till date for myself and family. Happy with all of the purchases and all so being used every day without issues. I can use upto 70gb data on one phone a month! So don't have a why some are unhappy with the phone. Are some of these people even owning the phone or just regurgitating what they allegedly read somewhere?

Let's see it happening on other phones

I bought the 128gb version. Honestly no issue what so ever. I have also seen a op5 with it but mine does not have it.
Before I purchased it from the O2 shop I asked to see it before I paid as I said to them about the jelly effect.

Yeah my oneplus one is grinding a bit now. So Im In the market for something new but the reason I got a oneplus was cus it was so cheap. And although from what I've read the one plus 5 is a really good phone and I'll add heat, oneplus have left me behind in price and I think I'll be going for something by Xiaomi for my next phone.

I understand your frustration dralanhart

I've had the OP3 for nearly a year now and have had no issues at all. Maybe I've just been lucky?

danfr10 h, 44 m ago

At the moment Note 8 before that S8. They standalone design and specifications
Only the V30 and iP8 will challenge that. The Pixel will be barebones again.
The OP5 isn't even full 1080P due to it's Pentile matrix. It's nowhere near being the best phone, it's just the most hyped on YouTube.

I guess you don't have the wobble wobble video camera, lackluster low light performance, touch latency( admitted by OP) or any of the bug fixes listed in 18 months of OTA'S
No, no issues

bubblesmoney6 h, 17 m ago

That is not jelly scrolling, but it is a pathetic attempt to say other device have it too. No device that o have heard of has an inverted screen.

This is why OP never fix anything of note, the people who buy the device always deny the issue's.
This is jelly scrolling

I have been using oneplus 5 since launch now. I can honestly say it's one of the better phones I have used so far. No jelly effect so I guess I am lucky. The phone breezes through whatever you can throw at it and the camera is great, everybody comments about how great the photos come out. Only thing I would say is that I would have liked an SD card option, but with 128gb I think I am covered. Would definitely recommend it if you are not looking to get a phone that everyone and their aunty have (looking at you samsungs and iPhones!)
