This is a great product brought it for my nans at xmas they both love it. I know it has been cheaper in the past but best price i can find at the moment. This one is the green version. This is the culinare one there are some cheaper makes around which have poorer performance eg batteries running out quickly or not cutting all the way round the tin.

£20.93 at chemist direst but lots of reviews on there.
£22.34 at choiceful.com
£20 at argos

These seem like a good idea but they are pretty rubbish specially when the batteries run out half way through opening a can, also the batteries dont last very long.I would not buy another.;-)

I have heard that too but my nan has used her's lots and lots of times and the original batteries are still working.

My GF's dad complained to Fray Bentos that their pie tins are hard to open, and they posted him one of these free of charge. How good is that... battery sucking or not? :-D

I must admit it does struggle when it cuts through the bit where the ring pull is.:whistling:

On tins with a ring pull:
put the electric opener on the bottom, not the top where the ring pull is (according to the manual).

Got one for my elderly auntie in august last year, and she loves it!

your forgetting the Lazy. Me. Had mine for over a year and its fantastic. as for the robotic hand, i'll stick to feeding myself, but one to hold my cigarette and another to scratch my a**e, now thats a invention i cant wait to see on dragons den.

For those of you worried about battery consumption, they also offer a rechargeable one. Its a bit pricey at £25 on Amazon at the moment but may be worth keeping an eye out for a price drop.
