Oh yeah, I forgot that there was a new Xbox coming out that still pales in …Oh yeah, I forgot that there was a new Xbox coming out that still pales in comparison to a comparatively priced PC build. Good job Microsoft, you've somehow managed to get misguided fools to pay £450 for what is still a weak addition to the console line up.With Xbox Play Anywhere, you don't need Xbox anymore. Just build a PC for a very similar price, and gain the ability to upgrade, play thousands more games, continue to play newly released Xbox titles, and learn what true high-fidelity gaming is all about. You're kidding yourself if you think the X is anything truly special.

Love this post... Oh hang on... Wait... The Xbox One X preorders are selling out everywhere?!?

You love your PC, some of us just want something we can sit with the family and play on in front of the (4K) TV and not alone in a mancave, and also play our serious gaming when the kids are asleep and the mrs is asleep on the sofa, I love my Xbox, but have pre-ordered this as I spend a lot of time gaming with and without others, I can pick this up and take it on holiday, I can put it in a bag and carry it over my shoulder, no fuss, the unit, hdmi cable, power cord and controller, job done, and the specs are darn good for a console.

I mean, I'm on your side but not everyone A) knows how B) wants the hassle of having a fully fledged PC. The idea of a console is plug 'n' play, with a PC it obviously involves a lot more maintenance. Driver updates, problems with some games not running correctly on say AMD vs Nvidia.

If you love to tinker and don't mind the fuss, I agree but the aim of a console is to just plug n play, you just switch it on, put in your disk and away you go.

I'm an avid PC fan but the simplicity of the console is something I admire.

but as many have pointed out...not everyone wants too....

I spend my day job supporting datacenters full of Windows and VMWare servers...the last thing i want is to pi** about troubleshooting drivers etc to play a quick game when I'm at home.

You can't debate with the master race, they are superior so us console peasants need to know our place

I am Lucky enough to own PC, Xbox One, PS4, Switch, PS3 and Xbox 360. I enjoy them all, all this nonsense about PC master race is laughable really. PC is great for some games, PS4 is great for Sony Exclusives, Xbox One is great for Microsoft exclusives, Switch is great for Nintendo exclusives etc.

I built my PC and spent lots of money on it, when I bought everything just over a year ago now it was pretty much all top of the line at the time. £1700 to build it, it is still a badass PC even tho there are now newer graphics cards released but the cost was massive. I wanted a Gaming setup for PC that would last me, it runs 4K at a good enough framerate. PC gaming is much cheaper than console gaming of course but I agree with the post above how some games prefer AMD or NVIDIA cards, some games that really should run like a dream either don't run well at all or don't at all. I have several games on my steam list that I can't play but can on Xbox One/PS4, my drivers are always updated too.

Console gaming is fantastic if you have budgets there is no denying it, for what the Xbox One X is I think you are getting a lot for your money here. I spent a hell of a lot more for a more powerful gaming PC but the specs of the Scorpio/Xbox One X are impressive for a small console.

Each to their own but there is something great about all the consoles AND PC too, they all have good things and bad things going for them! Just because you own a gaming PC does not mean you are "Master Race" IMO denying yourself other experiences only found on consoles is limiting your enjoyment and game experiences. PC doesn't have the console exclusives don't forget, I like having consoles and PC to enjoy everything there is on offer. Best of all worlds and I bought everything with my own hard earned £

Well said, there is a hell of a lot inside it for the price and because I am desperate almost psychotic to the point of needing this special limited edition I have ordered it twice in the hope I'll definitely secure it should one of those pre-orders fall through due to 'subject to availability' clauses

...the fact you need to buy a monitor

Well said. Everyone knows that it's physically impossible to connect any PC to a TV because HDMI ports are exclusive to consoles. Oh, wait...

Maybe, maybe not. But more importantly, why would you even want to build a PC that's as bad for playing games as a Microsoft or Sony console is?

ventis862 h, 37 m ago

The Xbox PS2?

Haha! For a split-second I genuinely though it was a PS2 in the above picture! Not that I'm ribbing Microsoft because Sony took the inspiration for the design for PS2's case from an Atari computer so they're all copying each other.

CallumGH21 m ago

I didn't say I don't have all the consoles. :P

Well if PC is the master race in your opinion why do you own consoles then? LOL Don't get why some PC gamers slag off consoles at every opportunity, you have admitted you own consoles. If you truly feel that they are inferior to PC Then why have you bought them and not just stuck to PC?

PC games cheapest around, costs much more to build a pc compared to buying a console. You can get an enjoyable enough experience on those consoles for a budget, remember you need a monitor with PC too so add that extra cost in, my G-Sync 144hz monitor nearly cost me the price of a gaming console alone when I got it. Great thing about pc is unlocked framerates and more graphics options. There are good things and bad things about all formats to play games on, that even you cannot deny surely!

Where did you pre-order?

I went with Game as I registered interest in project Scorpio a while ago, I was number 8 on the list. They are only getting 18 at my local store. They were calling the other 10 names who registered first today, in that store well over 120 registered interest already so it's fair to say the Scorpio edition will be all snapped up. The way it's looking it could be hard trying to get this edition unless you have a pre-order or have confirmed one, the regular Xbox One X will shift too as the people who weren't lucky enough to get Scorpio Edition will want it still. Got my receipt earlier confirming I have one set aside, saving for November 7th well under way now!

I checked other stores and shops online, many already had pre order allocation all gone! The few that didn't want the money in FULL right now... not ideal! A guy came into the store earlier when I was in asking if he could order a Project Scorpio Xbox One X he was told that the people who register their interest come first and that it was unlikely the other 100+ who registered interest won't want one of the special limited edition XBOX.

The whole advantage of PC gaming is having a monitor that can display 144hz or more, most TV's at best are 60hz less than HALF. Then your desktop would have to be next to your TV in most cases below it in a living room. Not very practical, if you want to play games without frame limits a monitor is the only way at the moment. Not seen a TV or at least an affordable one that can display at more than 60hz!

Oh please thats a minor advantage for everything other than high end competitive play at best. 60hz is still by far the most used refresh rate for PC gamers.

I ordered my X from very with the 20% off offer, so comes to a grand total of £364 including delivery that's a lot of machine for cheap.

That's just one of the many advantages of PC gaming. It's certainly not "the whole advantage".

Don't buy a "bulky desktop" PC then. Buy a small form factor PC instead.
