New groupon account can use promo code new50 for £10 off making it £14

(The emergency assist site didn't like my groupon code so had to call to get it sorted...annoying)

Code not working says not invited?
I've used this week. I bought when slightly cheaper than this. Was a longer wait than what they said but I've experienced that with both the aa and rac before. Got my car going in quick time was very greatful. Decent for me anyway for £19 quid. Haven't come to renew yet but will see at the time

Not for me thanks...

I had no issues when I needed to claim for mobile tyre fitter call out last year, emailed receipt and was sent a cheque.

You leave this comment every time someone posts this company....bet you've never even tried them

Already posted. …Already posted. https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/one-year-premium-uk-breakdown-cover-from-emergency-assist-via-groupon-for-2040-with-code-2853158

This is either £24 or £14..so no...is not already posted

Plus..that one includes the code in the total price...I didn't think that was allowed...we're supposed to put full price and optional price with discount.

I like to help others make their minds up if its viable for them by looking at others experiances.

No looking at the reviews I will not entertain them.

thanks for your input

I imagine people only review when they want to complain. I was happy with the money I got back from them but never reviewed them on trustpiolt....maybe I should.

I've just renewed and like I mention had to use them for a claim. No issues at all

These aren't £14 either. Plus (unless its changed) you have to pay and claim back, which is a hassle over Autoaid who just send someone out. Plus, the reviews on these are terrible. A deal shouldn't be good just based on the price.

Yep, and so may posted exactly 3 or 4 days ago. Fake stats and made-up reviews like most of these 'reviews' sites.
They’re actually OK in my opinion, but from experience I had a recurring problem (twice my car had the same issue), and they wouldn’t come out to recover me the second time...

The second post offers a stark warning of how dire this company is yet STILL people vote hot! More proof that on HUKD it doesn't matter how awful some offers are people will still vote hot if it's 'cheap!

AutoAid is the 'go to' budget breakdown company with a good reputation.

Did you read the thread and review links and STILL buy? I'd love to know your reasoning.
My experience of breakdown companies and over the many years here's my view:

Take either AA or RAC - you can find very attractive introductory rates. Make sure you have recovery and not just roadside as they will just tow you to nearest garage and leave you. £100 in first year should get you decent roadside, recovery and home start. When renewal comes in the price will jump to about £240. Ring them up and barter or as I do switch to opposite provider eg was with AA, cancel and go to RAC. Again you will get attractive deal about £100 and so on..... nxt year switch back to AA. As you havent been a customer for a year you will qualify for newbie discount.

Dont be fooled by AA renewal saying you are now a Silver member and get a silver card. Loyalty means nothing nowadays.

Other breakdown companies like AutoAid etc contract work out to local recovery firms. The local recovery firm then bills the breakdown company for their work. I have found this to go against you as for minor problems when using firms like these they tend to always tow you home saying cant be repaired at roadside. By towing you home they can bill the recovery company for more money. When I have had a mechanic out to my home they have always fixed it on the spot and said could easily be done at roadside.

Maximum vehicle age 10 years?! Terrible...

where does it state that?
Heat added as I bought this last year. When I brokedown they came out very quickly, lovely chap couldnt fix my car so popped it on the back of the truck and dIove me home. Probably buy again when close to my renewal date.

lol cant see anything about age of car in t&c's?
they have got mixed up with other company
Appalling customer service so far with my 'premium account' and wish I stayed with the AA or RAC. First call I made they said they will charge extra to come out as I told them my wife left the lights on... Second call a month later I made I was put in a queue and I held for over 35 mins before being told that it could take 90 mins to get to me and as I was over 100 miles from home they would only take me to a local garage. Not helpful and just left me feeling bad about them. They also wanted to charge £98 for everything (for cancelling the call out if I manage to get the car started!). I cancelled my recovery (which they wanted to charge £98 for) and got someone to jump start me instead.

Avoid and spend a tenner more and get something decent using Quidco etc.
Don't bother, they want £300 to come get you if you're in an accident. Waste of time. Avoid them!
anyone know of deals other than this at the moment ?/
Would not recommend these broke down on the motorway and they wanted £120 to get me off. Go with start rescue and pay the extra it'll be worth it when you actually need to use it.

Being as it's a breakdown service they are offering you would assume that they would offer some sort of recovery as part of the offer especially when you pay for the upper tier package...

Start rescue I had a few years ago and I switched to these because I was trying to save some money but the start rescue service is worth every penny as they actually do what they say they will and there's no hidden fees.

I don't understand. Why did they ask for £120 ? Isn't nationwide recovery included?

broke down yesterday a little slow on the phone taking details, and i wasnt too sure of my location, but got there in the end guess he wanted to make sure evey thing was correct. They were more than willing to tow my car back home over 2 hours away!

This would of cost me around £200 - £300 if not more, late Saturday evening as stuck in london.
well worth the £12 i paid out
will be happy to use them in the future

Towing for 2 hours! Dangerous and possibly damaging to the car. Haven't they got flatbeds?
