OK so this won't last long so if you are interested in this phone, jump on this deal before it sells out!

This phone has been in high demand since release, and this is the absolute cheapest I've seen it anywhere. As per the title there are two variants that have been discounted.

OP forgot to add 20% VAT to the listed price. And that it is the Chinese Model.

How did this make the Highlights list already? It's only just come on. What's the algorithm that determines the criteria as a highlight deal?

Ye as much as I like GearBest I would never buy a phone of this value from them... Where do you sit with the warranty for example because it won't be with OnePlus...
Can't justify getting this whilst I have a fairly new oneplus 3t.

For the price being asked for the 5, I'd probably go with a S8.

But it's still only on 74 degrees heat?? Hmm... Edit: 105 degrees heat.. still not near what the deals in the highlights are..

I'm in the market for a Oneplus 5. If I order from Gearbest, will I be stung by customs and duty? (in which case it will be better to buy from Oneplus direct).
iPhone knockoff by the looks of it
I've got this phone, really happy with it, hot

It's with Oneplus.
Why does one need 6gb of ram on a phone unless you edit 4k video
Excellent price but no warranty is risky for a brand new phone in the market

Hmmm, yeah. Good price but also concerned about the warranty and insurers not covering a non UK/EU unit.
1080p screen still? And before anyone says "I don't need anything with better resolution" or "I don't use VR"....it's principle. Do you really want to spend this much money and not remain futureproof/get more bang for your buck? Compared to OnePlus 3/3T the price is considerably increased. These are no longer value for money.
Cold. Gearbest!! (Absolutely terrible company) combined with mod abusing position to get onto Highlights page at 30 degrees heat. Seriously guys?

The OP also forgot to include VAT which will be due on the import! Unless HUKD themselves are encouraging tax evasion?

it's not expired, you need to apply the coupon code to get it at £389.86 or for the 128GB version £461.47.

Its because Gearbest pay money for advertising and making itself visible. Thanks to this, it will generate more traffic/sales/etc etc.

Remember the days when Chinese retailers were absolutely banned from here - not anymore...

Money will give you everything you want!

400+ PPI, how much do think you need? I have 1080P OLED on my Lenovo P2 and it's a perfect resolution, and extremely battery efficient.

1440P as I had on my LG G4 previously is 70% more pixels, each one needs to be rendered and refreshed which murders the battery for a reasonably small visible increase in quality (to my eye), we're not talking about 27" gaming monitors after all.
Too damn risky. Why can't One Plus sell their phones at this price?

Apologies I have removed comment but even so I have the oneplus 3 and this one doesn't do much more for a iphone knockoff and a bad company to buy from so my down vote still stands

I agree. Have 1440p on my s8 and frankly doubt I'll ever use it.
This is shipped from China so you're almost certainly going to be stung for duty and VAT. Other OnePLus phones from GearBest have been missing certain 4G bands too making them less than desirable in the UK.

Yea this is quite a high value item, how do Gearbest usually mark these up on the declaration?
Assuming they do it legit, you'll need to add 20% for VAT and 2.5% after that for customs charges. So this "deal" will work out £479.53 for the 64GB and £567.60 for the 128GB. And on top of that your 4G is gimped.

edit: ha, that's more expensive than just buying from OnePlus, this is a terrible deal.

I imagine it's rate of increase. If a deal gains 100 degrees in a day that's okay, if it gains 100 in 10 minutes it's probably something a lot of people want to see, so highlight it.

Deal breakers for me:
1080p screen with jelly effect issues
USB 2.0 speeds
No expandable storage
No waterproofing

Yeah, this deal doesn't stack up for me. VAT, customer service and warranty risk. Phone itself looks good and excellent reviews so far... but no waterproof is a bit poor.

Incidentally, Barclays tech pack (phone) insurance does cover handsets bought outside the country.

Today, agreed. Two years down the line, might be a different story.
128gb is £40 cheap than OnePlus. Using it right now and it's good. If you get this model anywhere near £400 then you have a bargain. I've used gearstick to get a OnePlus 2. Takes a while and the package tracking doesn't work but it has come through after a month.

Lots of sheep queue up every year to get there hands on the new phone that doesn't even have a FHD screen, and that costs £600 minimum.

But will they ship to the UK. The 128gb version is 499 from one plus or 513 from O2. If you get caught for customs and vat this will cost more and have no warranty. As mentioned I wouldn't be spending this much on a phone with no warranty
