First deal I'm posting so rip me to shreds if I am missing something - THIS IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO CUSTOMERS WHO ARE COMING TO THE END OF AN O2 Contract - or who will pay off existing device plan

I was going to buy one of these outright and get me a £10 sim only deal but I honestly think I've done better here. As it is a refresh contract you can pay off the device plan at any time and you are not tied into the the airtime plan.

I called up O2 and said I wanted to pay off my last £17 on old phone and get a PUK code to leave - usual retention call and I asked for best offer on this phone. It was £89.99 upfront but they waived this and then £18 per month for 24 months.

If I want to I can pay it off straight away and get out of the airtime (£17 for 9gb + Txt + Mins) -

As this is the higher spec model which is £500 from oneplus I think it is a good deal - it maybe cheaper from China but I got my phone 3 hours after I called them and can send it back no obligation within 2 weeks - however it's lush so I'll keep it.

Tiptop offer Russ, well done and if you get ripped #ignoreit!
erm, that's a picture of an iPhone!
Nice phone, shame about the pic!
You're right, but not by much. It's cheaper from Gearbest (China) at £431.18.
Its a shame it no longer comes with 12 months Xbox Live Gold. I got £10 off with Topcashback too if you're buying online. Also, if you buy online you dont need to pay for £10 credit and even picking it up from an O2 store the device is unloacked and bloat free.

Worth it for 0%, quick delivery and UK dash charger bundled though!
How can I get this if I'm not on 02?
I'm torn......this or the Pixel XL 2 for £600....
Its a shame teh camera on this sucks
Well done OP, even if you did get ripped, just remember you are contributing to the site by adding deals, unlike some. Have some heat.

Depends if you can take advantage of this low price on the 128gb 5T with O2 on this deal

The PXL2 QHD+ screen vs the OP5T HD screen & the battery charging, for a normal, everyday android phone user come into play when comparing.

Once the PXL2 gets down to £499, it will be very hard for the S9+ & IP10 to compete on #spec#price#, yes the S9+ will have some super features that will make the Apple Iphone 10 seem like it was, a £1000+ chocolate fire-guard, but currently and for most of 2018, the Google PXL2 can do it all + pure Oreo + Unlimited storage ((real)) for less..

Love the ridiculously fast charging time on the 5T, if only the PXL2 had something #likeit#
I recently tried to get an upgrade with O2, and they wanted over £50 a month for anything with 5GB of data and an S8, or iPhone 8, or £45 for the OnePlus, alongside an £80 upfront charge!

Good job getting that deal OP.

Think the price#plan is so good as it is a retention deal as opposed to an upgrade path, O2 do like to try and keep their core base going by not loosing users in the last 21days or so

Might be worth using the hukd thread as a basis instore with a manager, they normally have a bit more shove to do a deal in the last month after a puk request maybe?

High, looking at the decline flow of prices paid#phone sequence releases#flagship launches, would like to think there will be a reduction ((maybe not £499 yet!)) before the next google leaks start around june/july 2018 time. If you have just started a 24 month deal ((guessing by your xmas 2019 info)) you might be better off saving and buying outright direct from google on the next sale offer and selling your current phone & use the contract sim in your new PXL2

It already is. Even £450 if you trade in an old phone at Carphone Warehouse. Just search on this website.

The abreviation used is confusing - the Pixel 2 is £450 - the Pixel 2 XL is NOT £450..... Are people abreviating PXL2 to meal "Pixel 2" meaning the smaller, cheaper Pixel 2 or "Pixel 2 XL" meaning the larger, more expensive handset.
BTW, this phone looks great but comments i've seen suggest the camera is bobbins which is the only thing that stops me getting it. Have they put out a software update to improve it or is it hardware related?
Jezza672 h, 15 m ago

How exactly, the iPhone apart from the X has the biggest chin and forehead in the world!
I've had this phone for two weeks and having taken quite a few pictures, the camera issues I've read about are overblown. It's definitely not the best camera when compared to something like the pixel 2 or iPhone X but it's perfectly serviceable. It's an improvement over the 6S I had previously which is good enough for me.

Otherwise, the battery life, screen, responsiveness and speed are top notch. And the dash charging has eliminated overnight charging for me completely.

I think the camera is probably 8/10 rather than 10/10. Just remember that the dash charging is 10/10 and the FP scanner is 10/10 whereas all others are 9/10 at best. If the camera is most important to you, go for the pixel 2.
I saw a post on OnePlus' facebook saying their latest update addresses a lot of issues bought up by users about the camera and includes Dec patches.
Still on the OnePlus two myself so can't comment on whether the updates make any difference.

Cheers. And why should I go for the PXL instead of the S8? (Having vanilla Android isn't a huge plus for me)

From what I've seen the major benefits are vanilla Android (obviously not a major benefit in your case), potentially the best camera on the market right now, dual front facing speakers, unlimited storage for your photos in HD in the cloud (as it has no expandable memory). The S8 is a nicer looking phone and doesn't have the large bezels, it does have micro SD support and a headphone jack (unlike the Pixel).

I think the camera is the same in the V30 but the software isn't as good, might be further down the line they become similar.

Given the LG G7/Samsung Galaxy S9 announcements are just around the corner it's probably worth holding off if you're able to for now, that's my plan.

Not the best deal for your one plus 3. Could easily get double that if you sell privately.

I sure hope you didn't ask for a PUK code. That won't port your number anywhere.

You'll need a PAC code.

They are two completely different things.
Disclaimer: I'm kind of a OnePlus fanboy (owned the 2, 3 [which got stolen], 5 and the 5T).

I like more or less everything about this phone, but the camera processing could be a little better, there's no waterproofing, no Android O (and no Treble support). I want to see waterproofing in the next iteration (the OnePlus 6?) as well as a QHD+ screen (I've been waiting ages for this - come to me already!!!).

I love the metal body of the phone, the slim bezels, the headphone jack (sad that I need to say this). The software is the best I've seen in any smartphone. No bloat/heavy skins on OxygenOS (unlike TouchWiz, LG's thingamabob, Sony's whatchamacallit) which gives a fluid, close to stock Android experience. The only modifications are useful ones.

Dash Charge on this (and on the 3, 3T, and 5 before it) is so quick - full charge in less than 1.5 hours in my experience. And the battery life is also amazing (lasts more than all day usually) - probably due to the AMOLED screen as well as it being 'only' FHD+ as well as some other software tweaks.

The screen, even though not QHD+, is still good quality. It can get pretty bright and also rather dim, and the Sunlight Display does help a lot here (changes contrast when in harsh lighting). I haven't had any screen burn-in issues yet.

Overall, it is a great smartphone IMO for the price. However, apparently Snapdragon 845 devices are going to be released in H1 2017, so I may considering waiting for them.

Spot on. Even though I returned my 5t due to being disappointed by the camera (which I think is a software issue so hopefully will improve) the rest of the phone is really, really impressive.

I was also surprised how comfortable it was to hold considering its size.

Interesting to see what they do with the Oneplus 6 in terms of price. Each generation seems to get slightly more expensive as they try to keep up with the latest specs etc.
so the price qouted in the OP is actually a retention price ? how do you get the upfront 89.99 knocked off if you are not an O2 customer already??

Yes it is a retention deal but I tried to be as clear as possible about that. I'm not sure if it would be possible to get if you aren't already an O2 customer but your best bet would be to walk into a store and straight up ask for it.

Lol, how the mighty have fallen, that was being touted as the best thing since sliced bread with a £900 price tag a month ago, £300 off is a chunk of hate. I'd still go for the OP5T (even though I had one at release) I got the top spec model for roughly the same price with student discount, its a very good dual sim phone.

Heat given.
