Not sure about Toby deals but for this price it might be worth the punt for those that don't have access to the student offer on the OnePlus site.

I'm intrigued, but what is this Toby Deals? I've seen some posted, has anyone got any information or reviews?
Based in Hong Kong, would rather buy with more security from o2 for the extra money (and get topcashback)
Lol got mine £50 off with student discount when the phone came out

Except it doesn't come with Oreo, OnePlus intentionaly released it with Nougat to avoid having to implement project Treble.
Project Treble is not depence only from Oreo. "The problem has to do with partitions, or rather, the lack of one—the vendor partition. On devices such as the OnePlus 3/3T and OnePlus 5/5T, the vendor code is located in /system/vendor which is a part of the system partition. On the other hand, Huawei, Essential, and Google phones have already been using a vendor partitionto store vendor code on their devices." XDA.

Think I would rather spend this sort of money on something else they. Whilst some Amy rave about their one plus whatever there are lots of complaints about camera quality and what is it going to be worth in a year or two years time compared with Samsung or apple.

I have the s8 and the oneplus 5t and in some cases it does better, the oneplus 5 had a shit camera compared to the 5t. Also ive realised my samsung got slower after 6 months but my oneplus 5 is still as fast as ever

Apple cost twice as much, Samsung's rarely last much past their 2 years, you'd be insane to buy a 2nd hand Samsung after that point
That must be why I still get a good price for my Samsung phones after use by me for 2 years and then by the wife for a further 2 years. And not to mention the quality picture we have taken that are good enough for pc monitor wallpaper. If Samsung didn't think their phones were going to last 2 years then they wouldnt be giving a standard 24 months warranty with their phones but until such time one plus can match the quality of their competition then I know where my money is going.

In October 2017, a researcher caught OnePlus silently collecting all sorts of data from its users. Now, a new report says that there's still a OnePlus app that can grab data from the phone and send it to servers in China without a user's knowledge or express consent. BGR reports:
The French security researcher hiding behind the name Elliot Alderson on Twitter detailed OnePlus's data collection practices back in October, and he has now discovered a strange file in the OnePlus clipboard app. A Badword.txt file contains various keywords, including "Chairman, Vice President, Deputy Director, Associate Professor, Deputy Heads, General, Private Message, shipping, Address, email," and others. The file is then duplicated in a zip file called pattern alongside six other .txt files. All these files are apparently used in "in an obfuscated package which seems to be an #Android library from teddymobile." Now, TeddyMobile is a Chinese company that works with plenty of smartphone makers from China. The company seems to be able to recognize words and numbers in text messages. And OnePlus is apparently sending your phone's IMEI number to a TeddyMobile server, too. It looks like the TeddyMobile package might be able to grab all sorts of data from a phone. Even bank numbers are apparently recognized.
OnePlus has yet to issue a statement on the matter.

Other chinese phone manufacturers are know for similar activities.
