Only if the camera was decent or up there with the flagships but unfortunately 1+ have missed the trick!
It's a fantastic phone.. camera is a little odd.. but for the budget conscious..it ticks most of the boxes ... The only other I considered was the pixel XL...but at nearly twice the price, the 5T is excellent..

Nokia 8 also gives OnePlus 5T a serious run for the money.
Got SD card and QuadHD display too.
Camera hardware is excellent let down by Nokia camera app, however this has improved significantly since Oreo android 8 update.

Screen is smaller at 5.3" but doesn't feel that small in reality due to dedicated hard buttons for back/home/tasks, so no screen real estate is taken up.

Yeah I mulled the Nokia 8 too. It was going for half the price of the 5T which itself is half the price of the Pixel 2. The Nokia camera is most likely better in low light. In bright light theyre all pretty good.

The 5T is almost the same size of an iPhone 7 Plus but with very little bezel. The AMOLED screen for me at 1080 is perfect as it looks crisp and the battery drain is minimal. In fact I get 2 days use out of mine. However if you can get the Nokia 8 for around £200-250 its an amazing value phone. Both phone have stock android with the latest CPU so performance is great on either.
Looking like I need a simple free deal on the Nokia 8
Don't forget the VAT, which will make the total £454.54. Or you could buy it from the Oneplus UK website for £449

Have you updated to 4.7.6 [dec 28] 7.1.1 yet, as camera much more stable now?

Or even try the official Oreo 8 Oxygen beta rom, which is even better

forums.oneplus.net/thr…21/

This is an even later [build 5th jan] official oreo rom with further camera updates for using 3rd party apps, like open camera etc

For anyone interested, this is still a tad cheaper at GearBest as they have restocked the flash sales page from this deal:

In October 2017, a researcher caught OnePlus silently collecting all sorts of data from its users. Now, a new report says that there's still a OnePlus app that can grab data from the phone and send it to servers in China without a user's knowledge or express consent. BGR reports:
The French security researcher hiding behind the name Elliot Alderson on Twitter detailed OnePlus's data collection practices back in October, and he has now discovered a strange file in the OnePlus clipboard app. A Badword.txt file contains various keywords, including "Chairman, Vice President, Deputy Director, Associate Professor, Deputy Heads, General, Private Message, shipping, Address, email," and others. The file is then duplicated in a zip file called pattern alongside six other .txt files. All these files are apparently used in "in an obfuscated package which seems to be an #Android library from teddymobile." Now, TeddyMobile is a Chinese company that works with plenty of smartphone makers from China. The company seems to be able to recognize words and numbers in text messages. And OnePlus is apparently sending your phone's IMEI number to a TeddyMobile server, too. It looks like the TeddyMobile package might be able to grab all sorts of data from a phone. Even bank numbers are apparently recognized.
OnePlus has yet to issue a statement on the matter.

Other chinese phone manufacturers are know for similar activities.
