It's a serious amount of kit you have posted for this price. The whole …It's a serious amount of kit you have posted for this price. The whole point of oneplus is to be a flagship killer. The oneplus 7 won't be significantly better than the 6. This deal kills the flagship killer. Heat added

What happened to the days of a cheap oneplus phone.

Thought this would get cold votes with the release of the 7/7 Pro blah blah, doesn't make this a bad purchase, as the 7 prices, seem a little, steep.

Bloody luxury on phones nowadays!

As above though, serious big of kit for the money and arguably even better than the S9, especially when you know you'll actually get regular updates for your phone

Its weird calling a headphone jack a "luxury" these days, considering a couple years ago you wouldn't even have had to think about it, but apple being apple, they had to get greedy and add another item to their stocks "bloody airpods"

Now oneplus with their bloody bullets.

Samsung with their bloody buds, etc etc etc.

Apple being Apple, they don't even ship 3.5mm adapter in their £1000+ boxes...

It's called tech progress, unless you're audiophile and want tangle-less sound upscaling - but for that good in-built sound chip necessary

How's that Pie update working out for you, I should know I have S7 Edge

Meanwhile same era Oneplus 3/3T are on track for 9.0 Pie and similar era original Pixel is even in the Android Q beta, while looks like S8 also won't be getting upgraded past Pie either. They aren't the worst, but updates isn't Samsung's strongest point and they basically only offer 2 major updates per phone release, followed by basic quartely security ones.

Quarterly? Mine are monthly

Very happy with TouchWiz on my S7, all I need is security patches, not even monthly

Btw: Pie for S7 a possibility, rumours in U.S. about that

Considering it costs more to update a Samsung than a 1+ (because of feature-rich interface), I think Samsung deserves a thumbs-up - quality doesn't come cheap, let others cut corners on warranty/software support/cheap interface etc

Not talking about 1+ here mostly but about other Chinese players - 1+ being best of them

So, are the s7 and s7 edge not in line for one ui?

I don't know why I like that brand, maybe because it's first flagship I got (G4, still going strong...on Android 6)

Was later disappointed by V20, they just couldn't keep up with Samsung or new Pixel then

... somehow they managed to come up with very good device in G7 (when everybody else had already very good devices on the market)

Just hoping they'd make amends on update policy, got a great deal on G7 (Amazon IT, thanks HUKD)

...and so far they've delivered some security, Oreo was so good that I can wait till 2020 for Pie - as long as those sec patches are forthcoming

Still a bit of lag on interface sometimes, but experience is better than usual Chinese (= non-1+)

The LG v30 was £247 on amazon Italy earlier on today, as soon as I posted it, it went OOS, I would have bought at that price

Heard some info it may be, we'll see - to me security more important, and TouchWiz already very good, so wouldn't miss One UI

Great price, and great hardware, but I hate old aspect ratio

I prefer, easier one handed imo, which I've come to really appreciate lately

There was a rumour that it may be getting Pie as Note FE (rebranded Note 7) received it, however, it has since been just about killed (read the update). There's a few different articles already stating that basically no Pie and from March (what I'm on now) it's only quarterly updates. Which is a shame, it's perfectly capable of running the major updates as it's still a good phone.

Taking into account the size of Samsung and their prices compared to Chinese competition, cost is not the strongest excuse they have, there's just no money in them keeping support for too long when they need people to upgrade. Every Android manufacturers has its caveats, at least it's not LG bad

I understand they can't support these phones forever but a disappointment when OnePlus went ahead with Pie and Google went above and beyond on original Pixel with Android Q. So yeah, still think they have better software support and updates than Samsung

EDIT: I really just want the native dark mode from Pie

Well that's the thing, you've got 6''+ screens on just one hand with newer, higher-ratio models, they look gorgeous, feel gorgeous, scrolling is the same
