Normally I hate Oneplus. 5G version is exception.

Normally I hate mayonnaise in a sandwich, unless it's mixed with tuna.

Am I right in thinking that aside from the warranty, that there's nothing different about this devices than what we'd get off oneplus themselves?

How is it? Battery life any good?

Camera? Handling of the device? Looks big on dimensions alone.

Yep definitely. The only thing I'm worried about it how to it get insured as there isn't any warranty.

In what way SAM, a tuna sandwich way or KFC way?
Very tempted. The size of this and curved screen are just putting me off. Would just be updating for the sake of it. Think I will keep rocking my OP5T for a bit longer.

Thought so. Only seen it on gumtree with people wanting to flog it. Think it's locked to EE as well so kind of have to get 5G contract with EE.

So confused whether to get the OnePlus 7 or go for the pro.

I'd go pro if it were me.. The 7bis quite a high spec but boring phone in my opinion.

It's an interesting bit of kit, the pulse charging (using accubattery) allows at least a day longer than my S10, it's a bit chunkier to hold but only a slither over my old Reno, it's poxy that it's blue as wanted black but there you go!

Camera is exactly the same as my old OP7P, super fast, but anything with an 855 in it is this year!!

Not sure if will bother trading up for the OP7T on launch, as only got the 5G variant after all the hype/fuss had died down!

Unlike the OP7P have not had any issues with the screen and / or stuttering that the 3 ota updates have solved on the std pro, the screen is slightly denser and lower % res on the bright outside use settings, but it's something that's a bit odd as they both use the same zgo o-ledf panel in them

Last year when Switchy was in a flurry of thread deals for some of the high end low cost flagship phones, a member suggested one single gadgets / devices cover via nationwide account, that is what I have now opened and have... not had to claim on it yet, as all the kit has been super reliable and spot on, bit there are other options to get the warranty and security of a cover on all these eGlobal and the like supplier deals

As for this Pro vs std OnePlus 7, this all day long!!!

That's why I'm struggling to convince myself to do it. I like the option of a wide angle lens, quicker charge and slightly bigger battery. Not to mention 90hz screen.

5G isn't worth it for another few years when the second round of auctions is done. Then we'll know the score of who is best in mhz spectrum.

You mean the normal non 5G version of OP7P?

I'm sure Samsung makes the OLED panels for them?

Tbf S10 has very ordinary battery life imo. Depends on how heavy a user you are?

If it lasts you the day would you consider yourself to be a heavy user?
The price is dropping all the time, but it still costs a good wedge more than the completion at its level.

The MI9T Pro 6/64 is £327 over at b...g..d. on pre order, that's a big difference with only a QHD 90hz and stereo speaker in the OP's favour.
Intersting video on YouTube this week questioning the validity of the 90hz refresh rate claims, it certainly is way off what's inside the Razer that's for sure.
The screen was laggy to say the least and the FPS rate saw it 3rd of 4 devices with it only beating a budget device.

Nice spot MrSwitch, I gave you some heat for the falling price.

The way I see it is, when 5G has had a full roll out, or at least when it hits me, them I'll contemplate buying a 5G phone, by which time OG 5G phones like the mix 3 5g, op7p 5g, and S10 5g will all be 2nd hand and even cheaper than now. I'm happy with that.

Same here. That's basically what I'm thinking. Plus I believe there are a lot of optimisations to come with newer processors in regards to 5G. Maybe even bigger batteries I wish.

And if there isn't a big development in handsets, and I'm wrong in my guesstimates then the top dog handsets with 5G right now will be much much more affordable.

Care to elaborate on your experience please?

No this Pro deal vs the normal OnePlus7 hardware, that is what you asked is it not up a bit?

The battery life on all the S10 range, is just pants, but a necessity for me as I have Mavin X's and use Qualcomm TWS+ on them, along with Knox3 / Ledger security for business stuff etc etc

Ah right thanks for clearing that up. Was confused from your previous comment at the last paragraph. I wasn't aware of any stuttering on the normal OP7 that wasn't there on the OP7 Pro.

Battery life on Samsung phone is pants in general I think. Yeah if you need specific features etc then it makes scene as it's work related. For standard non professionals like me though. Samsung make software harder than it needs to be.

Think I need to view the OP7 Pro along side the normal OP7. Then decide based on handling etc. The standard OP7 looks absolutely rapid. Credit has to go to OP making such big efforts with the software and the camera finally looks like it's worth it.

I will try again... clean up part duex!!!

The comment "This 7 Pro one or the standard 7" is answered by "this 7 Pro deal all day long" so for the 7 Pro extra £ its so, so worth it, if the fancy gizmo screen refresh and a few "pro" camera features plus the bigger, higher res ppi screen, the standard Oneplus 7 is still a great buy.. but IF you can stump up the difference to the 7 Pro, you will not be disappointed!

My 7 Pro is what I was referring to, as the one with the ota screen updates, that only the last one fixed, compared to my 7 Pro 5G, which has had none of the issues with the screen or lag or refresh blah blah! These 7 Pro issues do not exist on the 4x 7 Pro's I have seen since the last update, in everyday use.

I do not have the 7 Pro anymore, I never had the 7 Standard and now have the 7 Pro 5G

deary me. What a mess I got myself into there.

Thanks for the patience in clearing that up

Interesting the difference between the normal non 5G 7 Pro and 7 Pro 5G exclusive on EE. I wonder if they have different versions of OxygenOS as well?

Yep reading and you and the others very clear. Pro version is worth spending the extra on compared to the standard 7 OP. Just need to have a nosy and see if it's comfortable to use in one hand. Wishful thinking I imagine but good to know either way.
I'm just wondering, if it's flashed OS, would it get OTA updates? Any help... Thanks

5G is the future. Like Band 20 was 5 years ago. More the bands, faster, more reliable the signal. Carrier Agregreation and Mimo make faster speeds possible. Hereford apple cider still my favourite 😁
