Why aren't these coming out as 512 GB storage yet?!
Waiting for the “cold, not an iPhone” comment.

I just bought OnePlus 7T for £527 :P
Is this not the same price as Oneplus direct but they give a couple extra bits free?
128/8GB version from Amazon Spain £410. Using it now to write this, it's a sweet buttery smooth screen!

That was last week unfortunately! All gone by now. Was a cracking price of €450 for the regular OP 8. Ordered it quickly

There was also an offer on Amazon Germany for OP 8 12GB version for €580/£520

So yeh this deal is not as cheap as it has been in the past.

Yeh really glad I decided to switch from my S10 to this. Heck I even cancelled my order of the S20.

Happy to have a phone that can actually last a day of heavy use

Will keep an eye on it 👀 Thank you and enjoy your shiny phone
Heard that it's not just that back that's green with these new OnePlus phones

I've got an S10 at the moment. Any other thoughts on your switch? Looking to change since I can't get a full day of not even heavy use and think this is my best bet . Good sot I assume?

I'll be honest, since the galaxy S8 came out I have been very content. I feel like there are only minor changes at this point, and there is no need to upgrade every year or 2.

The only reason I got the S10 was because it was a fantastic deal as I needed a new contract. But in all honesty, it wasn't noticeably better than my S8+. In fact I can say the battery is worse on the S10 somehow.
Just like you, I barely managed to get a day out of the S10.

Now onto the OP8...........
It was a slight shock moving onto a "simpler" android experience, and I do miss some of Samsung's features. But all in all very minor. Something I just had to get used to.

The benefit is, I finally decided to use more of Google Apps and features now. It's nice not being bombarded by 3 different apps that have the same function. For example on Samsung you would have OneDrive, Samsung Cloud, Google Drive and I would not choose any (many more examples to give). On the OP8 it's straightforward and in my opinion better.

Battery wise, it's been brilliant, and my main reason for being happy with the OP8 (so far).

With 90Hz I get around 6-8 hours of Screen on Time. Mostly north of 7 hours. At no point do you have worry running out of battery. It will easily last a day.

My S10 would struggle with 5 hours SoT on a good day of continuous use. If it were idle, during work for example, it would not even have 4 hours SoT. The phone really struggled.

So to summarise: even with 90hz you will get 50% more battery than the S10. Easily. The better battery, and 90Hz display are enough reasons to switch.
(Also OP8 fully charges in around 50 minutes. Nor does the phone get warm like the S10 does.)

Thanks for taking the time for the detailed review. Much appreciated

I swapped my p20 pro (505 with free bose headphones courtesy of hukd ) for the S10 (515 with galaxy active watch courtesy of hukd ) just because it was so cheap at the time and I think it's more economical to bite when a stonking deal comes up instead of when you need to.

The battery on the S10 is diabolical. I blame recent updates. I've said it before with my S7 Edge that I wouldn't go back to Samsung and I should have heeded my words.

I think the next phone for me will either be that or the mi 10, it just depends on the price. Your comments on the 'simpler' android experience is music to my ears and I'll be ready to pounce should it get near £400 again though that's for sure. At £500 it's just not worth the price difference. I'll just curse in the afternoon when I stick my phone on charge

You certainly got a good deal. Well played
